Victor Frankenstein

Sunday, November 29, 2015

November is one of those boring months to catch a movie in the cinema. One glance at the movie listings & all you see is horror & spooks genre, a spillover from October. Perhaps Victor Frankenstein was deemed timely & appropriate to ride along the Halloween theme. With James McAvoy & Daniel Radcliffe heading the movie, I assumed it shouldn't be any worse.

I was wrong. The plot was poor that it's a pity the great casts' talents were put to waste, again. I'm at lost of words when describing how weak the plot is. It seemed that too many things are going on what is supposed to be a straightforward story of a man who brought a dead body to life.

And why on earth the iconic undead body was not the finale creation that we are all too familiar with? Instead, the writers gave birth to another new monster that looks more like a giant troll from The Hobbit movies. I couldn't bring myself watching the movie again if it's on air on Astro. What a shame. Rating 3.5 out of 5.
