Oh my...Benedict Cumberbatch taking on the role as the self-titled movie Dr Strange is bound to be an interesting one. I mean, who can actually contain the excitement upon hearing this news? *squeals*

Cumberbatch plays Dr Stephen Strange, an acclaimed but proud neurosurgeon who lost ability to control his hands after a car accident. Believing that he can regain use of his hands. he went through multiple experimental surgeries but ended in vain. Upon hearing that his previous paraplegic patient mysteriously was able to walk again, Strange looked for him & led to a scared place called Kamar-Taj.

There, Strange learned about mystical powers & alternate dimensions, progressing quickly to help him channel energy to gain use of his hands. He also encountered Kaecillius (Mads Mikkelson) who stole pages about forbidden power from the ritual book & intend to create mass destruction.

Dr Strange & team came up with some plans to defeat Kaecillius & his zealots and the summoned Dormammu, thus saving the world city from peril. The CG effects of alternative dimensions is awesome, although ala Inception style. I think this inspiration probably the best way to depict other dimensions that is so mind-boggling & yet not widely understood by ordinary humans.

This movie is a fantastic addition to the already expanded MCU & I'm definitely pleased that Marvel Studios are exploring works of lesser known characters; continuously injecting wonder to keep the MCU fresh. It will be one hell of a joy ride when all characters converge in The Avengers: Infinity War.
