Avengers: Infinity War Part 1

Monday, April 30, 2018

It's the Avengers we all have been waiting for; a culmination of 10 years of Marvel movies leading up to the final battle with the ultimate villain, Thanos. The launch date was timely on the last week of April followed by a long holiday weekend to Labour's Day. I was excited, so is my hubby & we straight away hit the purchase button on the cinema website for the slot on April 30 coinciding with our annual leave too.

What's the final verdict? Let's find out.

It was the best Avengers movie by far - gripping, intense & loads of character appearances. Thumbs up to the Russo brothers for creating yet another awesome Marvel movie. Love how the characters are weaved in nicely without compromising screen time, though some characters were mentioned verbally ie Ant-Man. Because you know, the sequel will be released in the summer & Marvel doesn't want to be spilling the beans nor killing off some characters too soon. Opps!

Infinity War was almost perfect but not without its flaws. If you've been following the MCU, you're surely aware that Thanos (by Josh Brolin) - father of Gamora & Nebula (both from Guardians of the Galaxy), badass villain - has been busy searching high & low to complete his Infinity Stones collection. Each stone has specific powers & can be harness through the Infinity Gauntlet.

There were a couple of obvious plot holes that could've ended the entire Infinity War without the need for part 2. Those were really eye-rolling moments that almost spoiled the movie. Thankfully the movie kept the pace going with lots of adrenaline pumping scenes, without realising that the runtime came close to 2.5 hours! And that ending before the cinema screen turned pitch black...OMG. It literally left everyone speechless, gasped & held their breath.

I'm not going to spill any further. All I can say is...it made me anxious about waiting for 1 freaking year for the 2nd part to hit the theatres. It's a horrible feeling~ Wait no longer & go grab your tickets now. Don't let the Internet spoilers ruin your movie plan. And you'll know why it's easy to forgive the misses & focus on the majority part hitting the right notes, leaving you wanting for more.
