Jeng, jeng! My huge package just arrived yesterday. *squee* Since the box was enormous...

...I couldn't find a perfect spot to hide it from my Mum's prying eyes. And so, she made me opened up the box cuz she was curious about the items inside since the total amount listed on the EMS slip was about ¥10000 or more.

Here's are the content of the box. Mind you, these are my friend's orders.

Meanwhile, I only bought these stuff.

The tour pamphlet was quite worth it as it was printed on high quality paper. What's more, the photoshoots were awesome. If only the pamphlet was thicker, then it would be even more worth the money spent. As for the T-shirt, the ladies cut was great but it's kinda disappointing that the fabric quality was compromised. After seeing pics of the Dong Bang members wearing similar shirts (the words on their shirts had shiny sequins sewn on), I was half hoping that mine wouldn't turn out like that. I'm glad it wasn't shiny...*phew* as I didn't wanna end up like a disco ball at the chest part. Okay, the sequins wasn't so bad either but I like it simple. Simple means more ^^.

Ah, yes. The necklace. The pendant was smaller than I expected but I guess it would look great when I put it on. It is indeed beautiful & it was a mistake for not buying it earlier this year. Now, I have to pay a whopping high price for it -_-".

See the bling-bling? XD

It comes with a gift paper bag.

Of course, the jewellery was meant for Valentine's Day. This is a chocolate magnet, btw.

Alas, the last item on my shopping list which flew directly from Japan.

Look at what the Dong Bangs had done to me. Somebody pls kill me now...XD

P.S. My mum was complaining why I'm obsessed with cross-shaped pendant, earrings, yadi yada...to be frank, she dislikes anything that has a religious symbol. That's why she's making a fuss over it. I take any cross accessories as a fashion statement & I don't feel offended or don't mean to offend anyone about crosses. I'm supposed to be Buddhist but in reality; my practice is more atheistic.

edit:
It's 12.00am, Monday here. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY DEAR YOOCHUN!! 생일 축하함니다 믹키유천! 誕生日おめでとう、ユチョン!

------------------------------------------------

Ugh. The movie I was anticipating to watch in this post turned out to be quite a disappointment. The English dubbing was surprisingly good despite running out-of-sync when the characters moved their lips. It's understandable; since the movie is originally in Japanese.

The disappointing part of the movie is because lots of scenes were cut off. I mean, A LOT -_-". Why?? T.T Animax is such a meanie. The next irritating part is the commercials but that's still tolerable. Why cut short the movie? Guess what, the movie was so short that it was only 1 hour 40 mins.

*sighs* Oh well...nothing beats watching the movie on a TV screen rather than the my laptop screen. Don't y'all think so? But it could've been better...

You know...those discount or cash vouchers always never fail to attract us to buy stuffs that we WANT (not NEED, mind you XD). Most of the time, the vouchers have certain terms & conditions which make the so-called promotional benefits less favourable to customers. I don't mean all vouchers; but only some. Can't really blame the parties who issue the vouchers cuz all they wanna do is business. Who doesn't wanna cheat a little (in a legal way...) & earn extra profit?

Why am I telling y'all this? Cuz never in my life I've seen such a deceiving cash voucher. In fact, it's a really big cheat. This RM50 cash voucher was issued by this Chinese restaurant we went to previously. Not wanting to put it to waste, we decided to go there again for lunch. The incident happened last week but I forgot to share with you guys. We all know that cash vouchers work pretty much like cash & it's redeemable with any amount spent unless a minimum amount is stated clearly as part of the terms. The balance from the cash voucher will be forfeited if the amount spent is less than the cash voucher. Fair & square? Okay.

Our cash voucher turned out to be ambiguous. While large printed words of "RM50 Cash Voucher" were on the front, there's a clause which goes like this...

Redeemable up to 50% of the total bill

WTH?! Which means even if we only spent RM50 in total, the voucher will only cover RM25 & the remaining RM25 will have to be borne by us. Unfair~ Lets say, we spent RM100; at the end of the day we only pay RM50 cuz it's half the the total bill & the cash voucher is RM50. That's uh...fair. Take another example - we spend RM200 but we need to pay about RM150. Why? Cuz the cash voucher is only RM50. There's no way the voucher will deduct RM100. See the trick?

For God's sake... if the restaurant is dying to earn so much profit, just put the damned minimum amount spent as the part of the terms & conditions. Geez... *rolls eyes*

Scans are upped. See it for yourselves.

Here's a small dose of Dong Bang fever for you guys ^^. Not exactly about the Dong Bangs but somewhat related. I present you the fancam video of the TVXQ Dance Competition which was held at Sungei Wang shopping mall. It was somewhere in March, I think. All I remembered was the event came a day after I attended the 1st TVXQ Malaysian FC gathering.

Now, the video shows the champion showcasing their winning dance choreography which was partially original. I have to admit that they were pretty impressive but there's still lots of room for improvement. Click the link below & see it for yourselves ^^.

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End was pretty good. Though not superb like its predecessors, it was quite entertaining so to speak. Apparently, there were mixed reviews; some saying that it was awesome while naysayers complained about the plot to be too covoluted. I agree with that statement, which is why I was kinda disappointed as I was so hyped up & placing high expectations on the movie.

To those who has yet to watch it, don't be put off by my remarks. The movie is still worth watching. Just that it lacks the spark in which the two prequels had. While I was waiting for the cinema gate to open, I was standing in front of this huge (yes, I mean it...) promotional poster of Captain Jack Sparrow. Knowing that I have the hots for Johnny Depp, I had this wild intention of...ROBBING the poster & bring it back home!! Okay, okay. It was only a thought. Imagine having Johnny Depp aka Captain Jack Sparrow in your personal space XD. Yummy~ *drools*

The poster is exactly like the pic below except that it's rectangular & minus those French words. I should've take a snapshot of me standing next to it *smacks head*. But my stupid camera phone is crap -_-". Oh nvm...

Pissed. Disappointed. A little upset. That was how I felt when I failed to win the auction last night. I wanted this (pics below) quite badly & decided to go for it.

I was very close to winning it. Then, WHAM! Someone outbid me...

I could've won it if I could afford higher bid T.T. My competitor kept on bidding non-stop during the last 10 mins. I was one step slower...so I lost in the end. Whoever that fella is won with the bid of 9500 yen.

The Winner... -_-"

I should've bought this necklace earlier. *sighs*

This movie is pretty old but I still find thrill watching it again. What's more, it will be shown on TV. On Animax~ Woo-hoo! I can't wait!!! *squee* The characters in the movie are to die for... XD

I've been longing to post the 東方神起xVERITE jewellery pics which I found from Cyxion forum. Some rich fella, I mean...REALLY RICH fan actually bought the whole collection. I felt so jealous cuz I intended to buy one of them when the jewelleries were available for order on mu-mo.net in January. It was too pricey to begin with & so I changed my mind. Well, who said Japanese goods are cheap? *sighs* The money I saved up was used to buy the 1st Live Concert: Rising Sun DVD instead. And I thought those ridiculously expensive jewelleries didn't look too nice in the illustrations.

Little did I expect that these VERITE jewelleries turned out to be gorgeous. Like I said earlier, some rich fella bought the entire collection & took snapshots of every piece of silver jewelleries. At that moment, I was more convinced that they are indeed beautiful. I felt a tinge of regret for not ordering in the first place T.T. Yeah, it was pricey; it's even worse now. The only way to get any of the VERITE pieces is through Yahoo! Japan Auctions. It might sound crazy to you but there are auctioners out there willing to pay up to 10500 yen just for some silver crap. It's not even embedded in diamond. Imagine how much value the Dong Bangs have... o_O

Might as well show you guys the pics neway.

The complete 東方神起xVERITE collection

Chocolate look-alike magnet which comes with each piece of jewellery
(Not edible)

1 sided earring

Cross pendant with chain

Arabesque pendant with chain

Name-engraved pendant with chain
(5 members - Junsu, Yuchun, Jejung, Changmin & Yunho)

I saw the cross pendant with chain on Yahoo! Japan Auction & I'm so tempted to get it. Should I, should I? Two of my online friends told me not to get it. Not worth it, that's what they said. But still...it's soooo pretty *drools* The auction ends on Sunday night which means I still got time to decide XD. And who knows I'll bid at the very last min. Evil~ XD

I was browsing through one of the Dong Bang forums as usual the other day & then came upon this topic about a newspaper article published in The Star. Surprisingly, it contained album reviews featuring Rain, TVXQ & Super Junior. Since the topic starter didn't post up the actual article, I decided to look it up myself. After reading it, I thought I might as well put it up here.

I wouldn't blame the author for not giving a good review as I don't expect him/her to fancy Korean boybands; what's more boybands are a thing in the past. The author gave a fairly good review about the Dong Bangs but not in the case for SuJu. They practically got bashed for having only pretty looks. Taken from the article: "...13 members. Why 13? Perhaps to to make up for the lack of talent?". Geez~ The 13 of them certainly have talents, unlike モーニング娘 (Morning Musume). Fyi, SuJu was formed based on the 13-member model of Momusu but way more talented than the female counterparts. I shall not elaborate more on the girls cuz you can easily find their videos on YouTube to gauge their level of talent.

Another excerpt: "But surprisingly, they are still around, thanks to their charm and immaculate packaging". Helloo?? Idols are all about charms, good looks & talent. That's how they are marketed to attract fangirls. Even singers need a certain degree of charm to succeed in the market. I've seen talented singers who failed to create a strong presence in the music industry. It's because they weren't attractive nor appealing enough. Simple as that. I have to disagree with the author about her remark.

On the vocal aspects, SuJu is not comparable to the Dong Bangs as the latter is one level higher. The Dong Bangs is in fact an acapella dance group; possessing better trained vocals are a sure thing. I wouldn't deny that SuJu might have been trained to sing acapella during their trainee days but they're supposed to portray a different image as a group. What's more, SuJu debuted later than Dong Bangs which means they're less experienced. The author made an unfair comparison between SuJu & Dong Bang. He/she must've been deaf or something. Dong Bang was also lip-synching in the concert, only fast songs though.

And if you read comments on Rain, there were quite a number of positive views. Rain has his own distinctive style but definitely weak on vocals. He is not even close to any of the Dong Bang members. The author seemed to favour Rain more no matter how hard he/she tried to be unbiased in writing this review. *sighs* He/she is free to express his/her opinions neway...

Mother's Day celebration for this year was pretty interesting. For a change, we went to Bangsar Seafood Garden Restaurant for dinner. The ambience in both inside & outside the restaurant was classy, comforting & well-lit (but not too bright). Food was pretty delicious, of course. Desserts...I'd have to say, they were absolutely fantastic. The red bean tong sui was superb & not to forget the dark chocolatey cake which was given to all reservations courtesy of Mother's Day.

Indulging in that lovely cake was like a moment in heaven XD. Every inch of the cake is made from rich dark chocolate & other ingredients mixed together to perfection. Each bite will definitely blow you away. Too bad I don't have a camera to capture a shot of the cake. Apparently, the cake is homemade; specially ordered from this lady who goes by the name Mrs. McGregor. Ah, mat salleh...no wonder the cake tasted incredibly good. She left her cellphone number & email address on the box too ^^. *grins*

As part of the restaurant's marketing gimmick, the staff took a family photo of us using a Lumix camera & even offered to print it. I guess we didn't pay a slightly high priced 8 course meal for nothing :D. Here's how the pic turned out...

P.S. My aunt said I looked like Faye from F.I.R. Fyi, F.I.R is a Taiwanese band which consists of 1 female (vocalist) & 2 males (keyboardist & guitarist). It must be due to my curls XD

Friday, May 11, 2007

There I was looking like a psycho girl who just escaped from an asylum when I stormed towards 100¥ショップ at SS2 while my Grandma dropped by at the morning wet market to grab some groceries. As soon as I entered the shop, I took no notice of the workers nor other items displayed & hurried towards the rack displaying none other than the 美Stick boxes. I promised Teema that I would get her Jaejoongie's box if I came upon one.

To my surprise, there were lots of white boxes with Jaejoong's porcelain-smooth face printed on them. You should've seen how my face gleamed & slowly turned into a huge stupid grin. Without wasting any time, I started searching for the rest of the members. There was an array of flavours available for sale (chocolate, coffee, chocolate errrr...) but most of them has Yoochunnie's face. Ack!

Since there were quite an amount of stocks with each of the members, I decided to grab them while they lasts. And so I grab them & put on the floor; dig some more for other flavours. This act of insanity probably drove the shopkeeper nuts (he must've been sniggering inside as well, hmmph~ more on that later). He approached & placed a shopping basket beside me; stood there for a couple of seconds trying to figure out what's so special about pretty boys on chocolate snacks boxes. Of course, they are. Because they're the Dong Bangs XD.

At the counter, the shopkeeper asked with a sly smile, "Is that all?". I said, "Yeah..." & started unloading the snacks from the basket. In total, I paid RM44.90 for all the snacks. Speaking of insanity, eh? He sniggered again before handing me the plastic bag & then clearly said, "Please COME AGAIN~". Get the sniggering part now? I'm probably one of those rare customers who walked out of the shop with a bagful of chocolate snacks worth RM44.90. Imagine paying that much for 9 boxes of snacks XD.

I felt poorer for the day but nevertheless, it made me happy ^^. At the moment, I'm still short of the complete set for the red boxes...*nudges Teema*

Piccies, piccies! I here present the profile cards pictures for the main characters in Death Note movie. I scanned them using my junk printer so the quality ain't that great. More piccies to come when I finish scanning the rest. I'll probably put up the scans for the booklet too if I have the time ^^.

---------------------------------------------------

My Death Note Complete Set DVD just arrived today~ *drools* OMG!! The packaging & its content are as good as the pics I've posted previously (taken from DVDHeaven). Basically, this complete set has the following:

  1. Death Note DVD
  2. Death Note 2: The Last Name DVD
  3. Special Feature DVD
  4. Booklet (Interviews & behind-the-scenes pics)
  5. 2 sets of profile cards

Erm, 2 sets of profile cards?? Well, yeah...it's kinda odd. But more on that later. No snapshots of the box set at the moment cuz my Mum took her cellphone to the office. There's no way I'm gonna use my camera phone since the photo quality sucks. Plus, my Mum's phone has Bluetooth. Will be back with piccies. Stay tuned!

Today was a rather boring start for my 1st day of uni. Here I am, entering the 4th semester i.e. 2nd year of my degree studies. First class of the day was MKT323 with a young Indian male lecturer who will be teaching us direct marketing. I have no idea why but all of a sudden, he mentioned that our most dreaded lecturer for MKT326 has resigned. Boy, our gang were so pleased by the announcement! Since there wasn't much to teach (not many students either..), he let us go an hour earlier. With that, I had more than 2 hours break with nothing to do. So me & friends ended up loitering around campus & Asia Cafe until the next class commenced.

I made Teema come to see me though she didn't have any classes after 10am (tsk...she skipped neway XD). Umm, okay I'm not entirely sure but from what I know...she was nice enough to accompany me till 2pm. We made a deal to bring & exchange our gifts; I bought her a phone strap from Singapore while she got me a box of Mi-sticks from Korean Village at Ampang. The minute we got hold of our gifts, we started squealing delightfully XD. I was thrilled with the sight of Jaejoong's gorgeous face on the Mi-stick box while Teema loved the strap to bits. Fyi, I bought the same thing for Jen but in a different colour. I'm glad you gals love your stuff very much. It's just a small token of appreciation for our friendship during these semesters. Love you gals~ ^^ *hugs*

As for the Mi-sticks snack, I couldn't bear peeling the box & ruining it just to remove a packet of chocolate-coated-stick-liked biscuits. At the same, I didn't wanna put the biscuits to waste by keeping them until they rot (btw, the deadline is Dec 2007 XD). I'm such a fickle, ne? And so I carefully cut open the bottom part of the box with a blade & distributed the snack to my buddies. One of my guy friends even said, "Gimme the sticks~ I love DBSK food too!". I'd swear I almost choked in between chewing the stick & laughing simultaneously...Ack~ It was one of his tricks to get free food neways *shrugs*

The MKT321 lecturer which had masculine-ish name turned out to be a petite & pretty lady. Nothing much to say about her as she dismissed the class rather early as well. When it was time for MKT326, we entered class & to our dismay; our dreaded lecturer was standing right in front of our very eyes -_-". I'd have to say, he did improve on his teaching skills but it wasn't much better than the last time he taught us. Hmm, that was a year ago. I heard that this week would be his last; so we won't be seeing him anymore next week. Makes me wonder who & how our new lecturer will be. Hmm...

After getting Jaejoong Mi-sticks box, I'm so tempted to collect the rest of the members too. Btw, it costs RM2 per box & there's lots of flavours packed in different designs. I told myself, "why not grab them all?" XD

After watching Star King several times, I have to express how much I'm attracted to 꼬마신기 just like I adore their hyungs. They're actually a group of kids impersonating the Dong Bangs in this talent show; in which only one contestant (individual/group) will win the grand prize. They're called Kko Ma Shin Ki in Hangul whereby kko ma means kid literally. This means they're also know as mini DBSK.

Though the kids didn't win, they have created much hype among Dong Bang fans including me ^^. Believe it or not, these young ones are too adorable to resist. Now if you look them up in YouTube, I'm sure there're plenty of fan-subbed videos on that particular Star King episode. Anyways, I made some screencaps from the show which features both 동방신기 and 꼬마신기 taking pics together. See how much the kiddies resemble their hyungs. Uber cuteness~ *squee*

동방신기 and 꼬마신기 in action!!

U-know Moonbin & U-know Yunho

Micky Yoochun & Micky Chanhee

Choikang Donghoon & Choikang Changmin

Yoongwoong Jaejoong & Yoongwoong Soungwoong

Note: Screencaps credit goes to me! ^^

I was surfing YouTube earlier today & came upon 2 videos of the same Korean girl doing covers of Mariah Carey's songs. I have to admit - she has an exceptionally good voice. As in...SUPERB! You guys should watch it & see for yourselves. Apparently she hasn't debut yet so there wasn't much info about her yet. Here are the links to her video & be prepared to be mesmerised.

Guess what, I passed all my exams... *squee* Kyaaaaa!!!! Haha, I couldn't be bothered about how I did. Most importantly, I cleared all the subjects in the previous semester XD. Since there're only 6 subjects for Year 2 left, I only took 4 subjects for the coming semester. My holidays are coming to an end & it's time to work like mad again *sighs*. Wish me well, ppl!

*yawns* Gah~ So sleepy...btw, this pic of Yunho is too sexy that it NEEDS to be shared. Drool on, gals! XD *giggles* Okay, I'm done for tonight.

Here are the piccies that I promised to post up. Enjoy! ^^

Lovely earrings, aren't they? ^^

Okay, these are the only things I bought for myself. Call me a hopeless shopper *nods* cuz I dunno what else to buy. The things are sooo expensive T.T. Whatever it is, the next set of pics are only me, ME & ONLY ME! :D Hahahaha.

My new hairstyle! :D

P.S.: Excuse the lame t-shirt. It's my old school t-shirt XD.

-------------------------------------------------------

Hello everyone!! I'm back~ *dances* Did y'all miss me?? XD Basically, there wasn't much about the trip. Like I mentioned earlier, it's more like a shopping trip rather than a vacation. Besides, who said Singapore is a place for sightseeing? Anyways, the trip turned out good & bad. Probably one of the worse trip I've experienced. I was so unfortunate to get food poisoning on my 2nd day in Singapore. Yes, SINGAPORE!!! Everything in that country; including food should be squeaky clean (or at least better than Malaysia). It turned out to be otherwise for my case -_-".

I only ate seafood noodle at this restaurant in Suntec City Mall & the problem started there. How would you feel when you couldn't stop puking while on the journey back to JB? Gross, I know. I puked almost everywhere. Taxi. In the toilet. Bus. You name it...The experience was awful~ T.T And I couldn't help but cried out cuz it was pretty embarrassing. But what can I do? *runs to the corner & weep*

When I arrived at JB, my uncle rushed me to the clinic. Guess what? The nurses were unwiling to register me in since it was already late at night. Thank God my uncle knew the doctor really well so the nurses had no choice but let me in. To my surprise, the doc doesn't use paper at all. All he did was scribble notes on his WACOM pad while I told him my problems. Wow! Even doctors working in PJ hospitals don't use that thing XD. Okay, I feel like a jakun -_-". What's even more shocking is that doc is a big fan of Korean dramas. o_O Bwuh? I've never seen such a sentimental guy before. This is definitely an eye-opener. How did I find out? Aiyah, my uncle lent to him my aunt's collection of Korean DVDs lor...

I feel much better now so don't worry too much ^^. Hmm, I supposed the lack of sleep pretty much worsen my sickness. Meanwhile, I'm trying to shy away from seafood. Ugh, bad memories. Lol. Gah, I've missed my chance to eat the famous abalone noodle that my family is boasting about. I think I'm the only one left who hasn't tried it. Oh well, there's always other time. Other memorable moments like my grandma falling down is priceless XD. Haha, it sounds mean for laughing at her but she was too careless. She tried stepping up the escalator when it's meant to go down. I'm speechless... -_-"

Not all things turned out bad after all. I managed to buy 2 pairs of beautiful earrings & souvenirs for Jen & Fatimah. Tsk, tsk...I'll give you gals in uni XD. Sadly, I didn't shop much but it was pretty fun window shopping & enjoying the moments of drooling over stuffs that I can never afford to buy. Perhaps when I start working ^^. Though I kinda regret not buying a pair of Converse shoes (about RM80+); after further coaxing from my cousin bro - I thought maybe I should go to Singapore again end of this year for another shopping trip. That's the best time to go cuz there'll be a BIG sale :D.

Will be back to edit this post with piccies but don't expect lots of them. There wasn't much to snap & plus, me ain't got a camera. I'll definitely take a pic of myself. Why? I did something to my hair XD. Don't be shocked...

Saturday, April 28, 2007

Dear ppl, I'll be away for 3 days as I'm heading off to JB then to Singapore for a holiday. Hmm, not exactly a holiday but more like a shopping trip. Geez...I sounded as if I had plenty of moolah to go for a shopping spree. Anyways, just like I mentioned in the previous post; I'll be back on May 1. Perhaps you'll only see updates the following day cuz I'll be tired out after an exhausting journey.

I wanted to bring along my lappie but changed my mind. My uncle's house doesn't have any Internet which means it's pretty much pointless to bring the lappie there. Unless I wanna try out my luck by navigating around the house for any potential WiFi signal nearby. But what's the likeliness of the neighbourhood having Internet connection; not to mention a WiFi router?

And I assure that I'll be freggin' lazy to blog neways even if there's Internet cuz it'll be tiring like hell to travel back & forth from JB to Singapore. I'm not rich la....that's why I tumpang ppl's house lor. Okay, okay. Enough of rubbish talk here -_-". I need to get some sleep. Take care, peeps! Be good while I'm gone ^^.

Thursday, April 26, 2007

Finally, I made up my mind to order the Death Note DVD box set. Phew! *sweats* I can't wait for it to arrive at my doorstep XD. Hmm, the package would probably take about 2 weeks or more to reach my house. Oh never mind...I'll be back before it comes. Ah before I forget, I'll be on a hiatus for umm, 3-4 days. I'm heading off to JB & then Singapore ^^. Don't be surprised if you don't see any updates. Hehe.

As promised, I went to college to help out my buddies in Music Club to paint banners. The Talent Nite event is coming up so my guy friends are busy preparing all the necessary stuff. Painting the banners weren't really fun, imho. Imagine squatting/sitting on a giant piece of fabric & ocassionally shifting uncomfortably just to get the perfect position so that you don't end up with sore legs later. Nevertheless, it was fun to meet up with my buddies. It's not like I miss them A LOT as I'll be seeing their faces again in a week's time. But ya know, the joy of working hard together & sharing lame jokes more than make up for the uncomfortable sessions. Awww...so emo liao XD.

Later in the evening, I drove sis to tuition while Grandma went for grocery shopping. While waiting, I saw a couple from the Middle East walking by the street with a baby pram. The sight of the wife draped in black from top to toe made me ponder a lot. What if she turns out to be a drop-dead gorgeous woman? Isn't it a pity that she can't flaunt her beauty & not afraid to hide her imperfections i.e. be proud of her looks which God bestowed upon her? I felt that her culture has stripped off her freedom. Not to mention the danger of walking without having clear sight of the path ahead. That lady covered the face until below the nose & I'm very sure; there weren't any holes for her eyes. Think about it, there're still such traditional acts practiced in this modern world. *sighs*

When I was browsing Yahoo! Movies, this page caught my eyes...

HD Movie Trailers!!

Sweet~ I quickly downloaded the Quicktime player to stream the videos. And then waited for the video to load.

1 min, loading...

2 mins, still loading...

5 mins, -_-"

10 mins, *gives up*

Curse the stupid connection. *goes to bed*

Wednesday, April 25, 2007

I was & still contemplating on whether I should go ahead to order the Death Note DVD Complete Set. It's a Korean version - limited edition which includes Korean, English & Japanese subtitles. Since it's a limited one, expect the box packaging to be gorgeous (yummy, I would say... XD). What's more, Taewon Entertainment is the distributor for this movie in Korea. Definitely lots of goodies in this DVD box set. Just in case you guys didn't know, Taewon Entertainment was the one who distributed 동반신기's 1st Live Concert: Rising Sun DVD. And trust me, the packaging & booklet is full of shiny-ness ^^.

It's not like I have insufficient funds to purchase it but I was planning to save up some money for their upcoming concert. And I intended to get a WiFi router in order to ease my trouble of occupying my cousin's or aunt's room to use the net. Fyi, my room only has 1 network cable at the moment which means I have no chance to get connected if my sis is hogging the desktop to download her mangas. Now you know why I'm in a dilemma right now -_-". I bet you guys didn't know that I already spent lots of moolah on Dong Bang's 2nd Japan concert goods XD. As usual, I only bought 2 items. But that's besides the point...I want more money so that I can save up more~

I'm sure y'all are pretty curious about the content of the box set. Here they are! Tell me, who can resist such a beautiful box set...

Ta-daa!!! Lさんはすごくかっこいいでしょう!

*runs off to Ambank to deposit money into the prepaid credit card* XD

Kyaaaaaa!!!!! It has been more than a week I last posted in this blog. Pretty long hiatus, eh? Well, I was busy preparing for exams especially subjects which are mind-blogging & energy-draining like Law which require more attention. Law paper was a total disaster T.T. If only I'd done better :-(. MKT232 turned out to be pretty easy; perhaps it was all thanks to the lecturer's last minute answers to the revision paper which was rather helpful. Statistics was a tad too difficult & the worst part is...I panicked~ Yes, indeed -_-". I shouldn't have so at least I could've done better calculations to get more accurate figures. *sighs* Oh well, it's over. No point lamenting over it, rite?

I have about two weeks holidays before my new semester starts. Oh boy! I'm moving on to the 4th semester. How time flies...guess what? My little cousin bro will be joining my college to pursue A Levels. Lets give him a warm welcome, shall we? *claps* I wish him all the best in his next level of education. Hopefully he gets really wacky friends who can joke as well he does & enjoy his college years in Inti College while it lasts.

Alrighty, the good news is...my dear baby is back. *nods* Yup, yup. My lappie is back from the HP clinic & it's running perfectly fine now. Apparently the keyboard & system board were faulty. The technician replaced the faulty parts without any charges since my unit is still under warranty. The weird thing now is my lappie no longer boots up with a Compaq logo but a HP logo instead. I had a feeling they replaced the system board with a HP one which I assumed is also compatible with my lappie. In addition, the lappie can boot up from power off mode by just tapping gently on the DVD Play touch button. This means it's not necessary to press the power button anymore. I still prefer the old setting though this feature can be pretty useful. I mean, it gets annoying when a finger accidentally brushed lightly on the touch button then the lappie boots up.

After the hardware replacement, it seems my Vista required re-activation to validate its status - either genuine or not. I tried several times to validate the product key underneath the lappie but failed. Hmm, I wonder why...did you know that if I don't validate soon; Vista will only allow me to use with very limted functions. Ack! I better work out something fast asap.

What the hell?! Just when my laptop turns 1 month old yesterday, it decided to fail on me T.T. I was using it to surf the net before dinner & it was working perfectly fine. Right after dinner, Vista couldn't start up properly. In addition to that, there's a loud sound coming from the speakers. Error messages kept popping up stating that the startup file has a problem. Since Vista is designed to have a self-repair tool, it began detecting the source of the error & trying to fix it at the same time.

Unfortunately, the Vista tool couldn't detect the problem & so I had to restart again. The same loud sound appeared & Vista wouldn't boot up unless I press ctrl+alt+del. After bypassing the boot up, Vista seems to be working perfectly fine. That's weird -_-". I thought maybe the error file can be fixed if I reinstall everything using the recovery CD. The system recovery indeed wiped out all the files which does not belong to Vista & then went through a clean install. Guess what? The same problem came up - the loud sound & startup error. Imagine how pissed I was & it was already 1.30am when the formatting & installation was completed.

So, I decided to try again by formatting the laptop. This time, I chose the factory reset option in which also clears off the files & undergo a clean installation. Honestly, I can't see the difference between system recovery & factory reset since both have similar functions. Tough luck it seems. That annoying sound & start up problem still persist -_-". Grrrr!!!!! It got more serious now that one of my keys are not functioning properly. I can't press the left-shift key+period (.) to get this symbol ---> (>). That symbol only works when I use the right-shift key+period (.)

This is so nerve-wrecking!! *slumps on the floor* Why does this problem has to happen when I'm gonna sit for exams??? It makes me feel so worried about the lappie. Ack~ I'm sending the lappie to HP Service Centre on Tuesday. Other than stupid sound & startup, there ain't other problems. If yes, I wouldn't be using the lappie to blog this...right?

*jumps gleefully* My mock job interview turned out to be better than I expected. Thank goodness I did my homework last night ^^. You couldn't imagine how nervous I was cuz apparently, the lecturer assigned to be my interviewer is a witty person. What's more, I only found out late last night that the blouse I intend to wear for the interview had one missing button. I was frantically searching for a suitable button to match the rest of it. The button still looked odd compared to the rest, though not obvious.

Gah! What's with all the trouble? So I decided to bring along my blazer to cover up just in case. Besides, I didn't mind dressing a full suit as I'm applying for a job in the banking sector. But then again, it was a little awkward to dress with such formality cuz I was the only one doing so. Everything's over now so who cares ^^. Since I promised Fatimah to study Statistics together, I waited until her turn is over before we headed for lunch. She came out of the interview room feeling devastated as she stuttered a lot. It seemed her bubbly nature couldn't do much help this time. Hmm, hopefully she's not too bother about it.

When we were dining at Asia Cafe, our guy friends came to join us. Too bad I missed their funny faces when they descended from Asia Pool while waving happily at Fatimah. Where was I? In the toilet lah~ Guess what we saw when one of Kenneth's friend came. We were shrieking & squealing away (yes, it's embarrassing XD) when he took out his red hot sexy mama...

Tadaa! It's the Vodafone 903SH~

The screen can twist like this...

This is the phone model that I've been dying to see ever since I laid eyes on the pics posted by some owners on lowyat.net forum. And so my dream came true XD. We couldn't stop drooling & fondling over its sexiness. Kenneth's friend stared blankly at us & probably quite worried that we might end up vandalising his phone & breaking it into pieces. Haha! Just joking...he was nice enough to let us doodle around with the camera.

I was about to try out the UI when an sms came in. Dang! Being a nice girl, I handed back the phone to Kenneth instead of pressing the button to read the message. It's other person's phone lah. How can I read?? Duh~ *sighs* I could've explored the UI & start admiring again & again. Don't blame me for being such a jakun XD. Tell me, how often do you see exotic phones like this in Malaysia? If only we can easily obtain unlocked version of Japanese cellphones...with that, I can die of happiness XD.

This is a random thought. Kenneth's friend (the dude with the 903SH) does resemble 松山ケンイチ (Ken'ichi Matsuyama). The actor who portrayed L in the Death Note movie, in case you're oblivious about his name. The only difference is he's got black hair while Kenneth's friend is blonde. What a coincidence XD. Studying in uni's library is definitely a no-no for me. Especially during exam periods when the library becomes overcrowded & noisy. Home is still the best place for me to do whatever I want ^^.

Oh yeah, another random moment. Some guy who was standing behind where me & Fatimah were seated actually farted at our direction. Thank God there wasn't any foul smell -_-". Yes, indeed. I was trying my best to hold my laughter while Fatimah - unable to control herself - buried her face in her hands & started cracking. Look, I don't mean to embarrass him but he could've been more courteous & walk to the gents immediately. *shakes head* I'm speechless...

Pride & Prejudice

Monday, April 09, 2007

After watching the movie Pride & Prejudice starring Keira Knightley as Elizabeth Bennet, I couldn't help feeling curious about the novel & decided to google about it. All this while, I'm aware that the book of similar title was written by the renowned Jane Austen who also wrote Sense & Sensibility. Surprised I was when I found out that the book was written in the 1800s! No wonder the language is so rich & refined.

The story is pretty interesting as it highlights on Mr Darcy's pride, Elizabeth Bennet's prejudice towards him & how it led to conflicts which prevented them from confessing their love for each other. Sad to say, I found the movie quite a rush as it struggled to keep up with the time frame in the novel & compressed it into a solid 2 hour film. It would make more sense to read the book to capture the full details of the story & fill up the gaps left by the movie.

Nevertheless, I was impressed that the movie managed to keep me entertained all the time. It doesn't matter if the pace was too fast. The simplicity is good enough for me to fully grasp the story. I love the show, really! Y'all should watch it ^^. Warning: Not recommended to audiences who dislike romantic movies.

*breathes* Okay, I think I'm gonna settle for a D for HRM & a C for Law, I hope. Lets not speak of me failing the Law paper. Thinking about it makes me feel hopeless. I managed to answer sufficiently for HRM test (I think) but I'd probably get a huge X for one of the questions. So that means losing one big chunk of marks worthy of a better grade T.T. When I sat for a replacement test for Law trial test (in which I deliberately skipped yesterday), I found myself having difficulties to answer well. The words from the lecturer, "It's okay if you can't complete it but I expect that you do better in the exam" is not making me feel any better. I could see the look on his face implying that, "Hey girl, you're so gonna fail my paper with such short answers in the paper". Oh God, I'm so lost...

Heck! Why on earth grandma had to lose her purse on the day when I was super anxious about my HRM test?? What a timing~ It's frustrating cuz I had to rush back home - make a phone call to cancel her credit card, get my wallet which I forgot to bring & rushed to college to start revising for the test. Nerve-wrecking, I tell ya. Not even a single thing went well yesterday & today. I'm so glad the weekend is coming...at least there's some time to ease my worries.

So, I've decided that I won't hit any books tonight cuz it's time for relaxation. There're so many videos that I've been missing out for past few weeks. I'm off for a downloading spree & catching up with the remaining Goong S episodes. Good gracious! The series already ended last month & I'm still stuck at Episode 14 -_-".

Wee! I got the highest marks in class for MKT232 test~ ^^ Feeling rather happy for the day before I face my worst fears tomorrow. It's the last HRM test & I'm done with the subject. The grades will only be released next semester.

I'll keep this post short for today. Ain't got much to blog about besides the good marks for MKT232 test. It's just a trial test anyway...and the marks are not included in the coursework. Dang! In fact, I shouldn't be too happy cuz I'm not really prepared for the exam. Okay, I'm off to study HRM. Toodles~ ^^

Never in my life have I experienced such an awful Ceng Beng Festival. First, we arrived at 7.30am - which was rather late & ended up getting ourselves caught in a traffic jam for 1/2 hour about 500m from the cemetery entrance. As soon as we got parkings, we quickly rushed to great grandma's tombstone & carry on with the prayings. Then, the sky turned gloomy within minutes showing signs of a heavy downpour. Being so naive, we thought the weather was pretty okay since the hot morning sun was blocked.

I decided to accompany Grandpa at the pondok cuz he couldn't walk to our greatgrandpa's grave. The rest of my family went instead. Guess what, it started raining cats & dogs through the whole morning -_-". When my family came to look for me & Grandpa, my cousin bro was soaking wet cuz there weren't enough umbrellas. We waited there for about an hour until the rest of them settle their work. After that, we left for lunch at a coffeeshop somewhere in Rawang.

We always have a meetup with the rest of the family every year at this coffeeshop after visiting our ancestors' graves. Initially, it was due to convenience since all of us would be hungry by then. Somehow we have come to fancy the shop's cooking especially their famous fish paste wrapped in bean curd sheets (fu chok). That's why we always return to the shop without fail every year. Honestly, I'm not a big fan of fu chok & I never eat them whenever my Grandma cooks it. But the cook in that shop managed to make it surprisingly good - making me craving for more. It's intriguing how tasty food can make someone like me to go ga-ga over it though I hated it previously ^^. Basically, I only eat the fu chok fish paste from that shop & not anywhere else. Not surprising, huh?

After lunch, we headed straight home & I immediately jumped to bed to rest. Other than rushing for assignments, there wasn't much time to do other things. Ah, Mum will be arriving from Shanghai soon. Hmm I wonder what she bought there. *shrugs* Life is just another ordinary day...
