Ahhh, I finally bought a new power adapter for my lappie. The joy of using my beloved lappie again after being deprived for 2 weeks is heaven! *hugs lappie* Ya know, I was very unlucky cuz the adapter that came with the lappie upon purchase was zapped by lightning. Thank God my sis unplugged the lappie before the incident happened. If not, I would've been devastated.

This is random. My grandma was admitted to the hospital few hrs ago. Why? She fell off the bed while sitting down & sewing a button on her blouse; then broke her right wrist. She was supposed to attend a wedding dinner tonight with Grandpa but in the end, my Dad & cousin bro went instead. *sighs* Unexpected things just happen beyond our control, eh?

OMG! Who would've ever thought that Bearbrick is available in Malaysia?? Unless I'm a frog under the coconut shell, this is a hard-to-get toy in my country. Oh well, I'll admit that I haven't been out to the mall for the past 2 months & obviously didn't know about toy shops stocking up on Bearbricks. So it's true, according to one of the dudes I'm acquainted to. My bad for being un-knowledgeable.

If it wasn't the business fair held recently, I wouldn't have known. Here's a little info about the business fair. Students who took this subject (including my bunch of guy friends) were required to set up a booth to sell stuff for 2 days; which is part of their final year project. In case you didn't know, I ended up helping the dudes to set up though I didn't take up that subject. Guys, you seriously should thank me & Jen for the never-ending support XD.

Okay, here's the thing. This dude I mentioned earlier decided to sell Bearbricks, new & old shoes for his stall. I was utterly shocked when I stopped by his stall to kepoh a while. Along came the squeals & spazzing, expressing how surprised I was that I got to witness this little toys with my very own eyes. I could still remember the last time I saw it on the mu-mo site showing a-nation '06 x Bearbrick collab. Definitely not available in Malaysia. Told myself that I have to own at least one of it.

Without any hesitation, I bought one doctor-themed figure & another orange one the following day. One each for me & my sis. Paying RM10 for a toy sounds insane, don't you think? No doubt it is but c'mon...being part of a Jap craze sounds awesomely cool. I'd always love anything to do with Japanese pop culture. Do look up on the web about Bearbrick cuz this toy brand is pretty unique in a way that its range of designs are joint collabs with other famous brands.

Looking at the box without opening it makes me squee~ XD

For once, plastic toys seemed so cool...

♪ Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me ♪ *sings*

I just turned 22. I'm so old -_-". Only 2 days ago I told myself that I'm still 21 years old. See how one day can change your age...*sighs*

Anyways, my dear 'lil sis bought me a birthday cake & had a mini party together with my cousin bro. Gosh~ I can't remember the last time I blew a candle of a cake. If only you could see how thrilled I was when I was told about it after dinner. So called adult, eh? XD

The cake looks good & tastes pretty good too. For a RM20+ cake, I didn't expect much. I guess it's the thought that counts eh?

Of course, the cake has to have a birthday girl too!

Geez, I looked like a sloppy aunt in rags -_-". Anyways, few of my buddies gave pressies~ Whee! Thank you guys for all the gifts. I really appreciate it. I think pressies are not important. As long as you guys remember my bday. Perhaps this would be the last time I celebrate with y'all as we won't be seeing each other so often next year. Omg, I'm making this so mushy. Oh well, as long as we still keep in touch then it would still be as fun right? XD

I believe that some of you may have known that I took a bold step to participate in a competition. A competition that I myself know very well that I never excelled in. I was nervous & constantly cursing about how idiotic I was to sign up for such a challenge. What's more, assignments datelines are drawing near each day & yet there was so much to prepare. Prior to D-day, I felt like I was on a rollercoaster ride with a full stomach. Knowing that my very talented buddies are competing did not make my worries go away.

After the 1st round, I kept my fingers crossed & silently pleading to God Almighty that I won't qualify for the next round. You read it right. I wanted to LOSE so badly. Surely you'll think who would pray to lose. Going through the ordeal of preparing a good speech & at the same time keeping up with assignment datelines is treacherous. I'd rather chicken out. When I received an email about the results, I was so relieved! It was like a huge rock was lifted off my shoulders.

Though I failed but I had no regrets at all. I joined for the sake of getting a certificate. After all, my heart was not in the competition especially when there're other priorities to be fulfilled. Thanks you guys for turning up to support & good luck to buddies who made it to the 2nd round. You know who you are~ ^^

I've got a new phone! I've got a new phone! *dances around* XD. Omg, I'm overjoyed. Finally, this phone belongs to me...the model that I was hoping to buy since I laid eyes on it. Bought it for over RM600 (AP lah, of course) with my own pocket money. Try imagining the feeling of using your hard-earned moolah to shop for the item that has been in your wishlist since ages. No doubt it's heartbreaking to see your dollar bills flying away but the self-satisfaction is beyond explanation.

I reckon this phone is pretty popular among students in my college as I came across a few who're using it. I mean, who wouldn't consider this phone? It's slim & feature packed. Of course, it's still not comparable to a 3G phone. Bah, nvm. I don't really need one since not many ppl I know actually owns or uses 3G. I'm happy with what I have now cuz I'm proud of the fact that I bought it with my money. Anyways, here's how the phone looks like ^^.

Ahhhh....seeing the box already makes me feel excited~

Totally love how this 16 million colour screen brings out the vibrant colours of Chunnie's pic XD

The slimness of the phone... o.O

I love mah phone~ :D I highly recommend this phone. It's pretty good, honestly.

Peeps, I'm back! ^^ There was nothing much about the trip just like the previous years. In fact, this year was more dull cuz we didn't get to visit as many places as before hence the lesser ang paus received. Not that amount of ang paus really matter but I felt the joy & fun when meeting relatives that I never meet for the whole year (or worse, never in my life). There's bound to be something interesting to talk & hear stories from them ^^.

It's good to be in Ipoh once in a while to indulge in a gastronomic feat. This time, I didn't have the opportunity to do so since I was there for purely visitation purpose only. Hopefully I can bring along my grandparents in the next trip. Imagine drinking a cup of freshly brewed white coffee while enjoying the peaceful morning, eating smooth steamed white chicken with bean sprouts combined with hor fun & savouring the goodness of wantan noodles. Ahhh~ Heaven!

Back to reality. Classes starts tomorrow again -_-". How I wished the holiday break was much longer. I'll be having early class tomorrow, gonna run. Adios~

Today is the 1st day of CNY. My family didn't stay up late last night to welcome the God of Prosperity as they had planned to do it this morning before breakfast. Apparently, the night before wasn't auspicious as the one of the ghost god ascended appeared from...hell? Prayers need to be done to welcome the Prosperity God & this means setting up a table with food, candles yadi yada to provide offerings to the God. Technically I helped to do the prayers by laying the food & candles but those chanting was assigned to my Dad. Again, me being born in the Year of the Tiger - was not allowed to welcome the kamisama. Not auspicious, I think. *shrugs*

We ate, got changed & waited for the rest of our relatives to come over. That's when the camwhore session began. XD (Pics below are not the full collection. Too lazy to upload all of them hehe).

Just a few of our family members.

The "pimp" & his "wives" XD

*smiles*

The one in yellow is one of my aunts living in Australia now.

After a few hrs, I got bored...

Here's me pondering the meaning of life.

Eventually, my house became so noisy & overcrowded that I ended up locking myself in the room & enter into a deep slumber. The rest of the day was nothing more than just surfing the net for more Dong Bang stuff & texting my buddies. Dinner at the restaurant was pretty much similar to the one last night. I guess there's nothing to be hoo-ha about it.
Btw, I'll be out of town tomorrow for 3 days. Don't miss me too much. XD Meanwhile, have fun & make sure ya collect lots of ang pau. ^^

Wednesday, February 06, 2008

In a few hrs time, it'll be Chinese New Year. Time for ang pau collection!! $$ XD. This year, our family decided to make a change. Instead of spending hrs cooking at home for reunion dinner, we chose to eat out. Bangsar Seafood Restaurant was our only option since the restaurant that we frequent a lot was fully booked. For the first time in our history of reunion dinners, we dine in halal Chinese cuisine.

Here's a shot of the restaurant entrance in case you have no idea how it looks like. It's pretty at night, imho. I bet on the night of Christmas; the lights are more beautiful.

The ambient in the restaurant is simple yet serene. Though there were many families having their reunion dinners as well, the atmosphere is merry but not noisy nor rowdy. And I really like that a lot. A LOT. I mean it cuz I had bad past experience at another seafood restaurant nearby my house. It was a nightmare, I tell ya -_-".

While waiting for food to be served, I camwhored! XD

Happy me & sis!

Happy me & cousin bros~

In a few mins, food was served. Half way through our meals, the RTM2 crew came to film some footage for the Chinese New Year celebration. Many families shy away from the camera & in the end...our family gave it a go! It was embarrassing~ As far as I can recall, I talked gibberish when I was told to give comments. I can't imagIne that this footage of me is gonna appear in the news. OMG! After years of not speaking proper Malay, seems like my grasp of the language has gone down the drain. Pretend that you don't know me nor see me if you happened to be watching RTM2. Please, please... *swts*

I know, I know. I've been such an lazy ass lately that I almost abandoned my blog. Ah well, I was too engrossed with MSN-ing with my classmate recently cuz we had so much to yak about. Anything under the sun. You name it. It was whole lot of fun talking crap for hrs. Ok well, ditch that.

My college is close for the week in conjunction with the upcoming Chinese New Year this Thursday. And the holiday officially started today. So what did I do? Nothing much in particular except being occupied with cleaning & MORE cleaning. I'm a sucker at doing household chores especially tidying up. Ya know, I can't seem to...keep my room tidy & squeaky clean. I just never bother arranging my books nor throwing pieces of scrap paper off my desk. I'm sloppy person, enough said. Don't try this at home.

For all I know, Mum had been bugging me to clear up those chocolate boxes from my Dong Bang labelled rack compartment. You got it right. They're the empty boxes sprawled all over with my darlings' pretty faces. To be frank, those chocolate snacks sucks but indeed it was good marketing to have the boys' posing prettily with a box of Lotte. Before Mum decides to rampage over that sacred compartment & send all my precious collections for dumping, I have chosen to part with my dearly beloved. And I say this with a heavy heart XD.

Nevertheless, I spared the ones with Jaejoong's cuz I'll NEVER ever get his one again. Do you know hard it is to find his? I shall not go over the details. To show that I once was the proud owner of the boxes, I took a pic for my own safekeeping.

Darn, where did my white box Junsu & yellow box Changmin go??

With only one more piece of clothing left to buy for CNY, I went to 1 Utama again. Yeah, I know it's boring to go there so often. But what can I do? Mid Valley Megamall is definitely out of the question for it being overly crowded. I loathe crowded malls in the weekends especially when this is the only second last weekend left for any last min shopping. 1 Utama was not an exception, either. At least there was some fresh air to breathe XD.

It took me less than an hr to get what I wanted as I already have a clear idea of what I wanted ^^. I got myself a pair of jeans from Romp :D. Not wanting to miss out on those bright colour decors at the mall, me & sis decided to camwhore again. I found that 1U is surprisingly creative this year cuz they have lots of huge giant Chinese words around placed around the mall. Don't ask me what the words mean cuz I failed at Chinese -_-" my Chinese is limited. Here's an example.

Another one here.

And another one here too.

Of course, there's always the Golden Oval at New Wing that has the most extravagant decor to hype up the CNY atmosphere. It was a tad too red, imho. Think again...if it isn't red, what can it be? Obviously there're no other colours to substitute the auspicious red. Perhaps yellow? Hmm.

On the other hand, the Old Wing has its own share of decor though not as equally grand. We still took pics neway. Just for fun.

We took quite a few snapshots but I'm too lazy to post up. Resizing makes the whole uploading process a lot more tedious. Oh man, I haven't even clear the junk from my room -_-". Can I just leave it as it is?? *hides from Mum's glare*

You know, I can never get tired when it comes to adorable puppies. Just a couple of days ago, my granduncle & his wife came for a visit while bringing along a female pup. How can you resist a 2 month old pup who enjoys the attention & loves to be cuddled? Not possible when that little thing looked awesomely cute in front of the camera just like this.

I can't remember exactly which kind of breed she is. All I know is that she has similar characteristics as compared to my dog. She loves to lie down on her back like this...

Getting pats on her head like that...

Or just plain posing for the camera!

Just like my dog~ XD

Don't you ever wish you have a doggie like mine?? XD

A new Chinese restaurant just opened recently in this building called LYL Plaza which is not too far from my house. We decided to give it a go knowing that my grandma loves dim sum A LOT. To be honest, I've been eating dim sum for the past few weeks & I'm starting to feel nauseatic each time I think about it. Oh well...*shrugs* For the sake of pleasing grandma, I put aside my dim sum phobia.

No doubt the ambience is good cuz it's brand new, anyways. The restaurant even have little teapots stacked against the wall as decor. I would say the fixtures & lightings used really exude a sense of class & exclusivity.

While my grandparents were busy ordering dishes off the menu...

I was goofing around in front of my camera. (cuz me ♥ the camera very much ^^)

After finalising the orders, we waited & I continued to camwhore again. This time, my sis joined in ^^.

Food came but unfortunately many of the dishes were cancelled due to insufficient ingredients. I supposed the restaurant underestimated the crowd turnout that day. Apparently, one of the captain said that they're afraid they might be able to sell all the food hence leading to wastage. It was stupid idea to assume that way! C'mon, anyone would walk in to eat when they see a new restaurant newly opened being advertised in the newspaper.

And so we waited again for the rest of the dishes. We waited & waited...

Even my cousin bro got really bored of waiting. -_-"

Overall, food was pretty good. The main prob is the mediocre service cuz the restaurant is seriously lacking manpower during peak hrs. Not to mention poor planning & forecasting of customers. Hopefully they'll work out a solution asap. Nevertheless, my favourite dish that I have to mention is the...

The yummy egg tart~ *drools*

Trust me, you just can't stop eating it the min you take the first bite on the scrumptious pastry. The filling is lovely & the sweetness level is just nice ^^. It's THAT good. What's more, it was fresh from the oven when it was served. Gosh, I feel like eating it again. T.T

After the meal, I couldn't resist myself from posing in front of the restaurant. Since I'm there, why not? XD

Future restaurant lady boss in the making! XD

Geez, F4. How degrading can you all get? Or should I put the blame on your recording company & the director of your not-so-original music video? You're making me despise you guys even more. Okay, perhaps using the four seasons in music videos ain't a new idea. But what's puzzling me is that how can the scenes be so similiar. Especially when F4's MV showed the members walking in the background of different seasons. I wouldn't have known about it until I saw the headlines in Sin Chew's entertainment section.

In the article, it stated that F4's new MV Waiting for you has been blamed by the media & fans for plagiarising Dong Bang's PV Step by Step. There were also pics included the article to show the comparison between F4 & Dong Bang's music video. There is no doubt that there is a slight resemblance in both videos. On the other hand, F4's recording company & management had denied all accusations in relations to the music video. As usual, they gave lame excuses just to avoid the problem. -_-"

I was shocked that whatever was mentioned in the article was true. How can it be so coincidental that both videos turned out to be so alike? I mean, I would only considered the similarity to be a coincidence if both videos were released at the same time. The prob is...F4 released their latest video months after Step by Step was aired on Japanese TV. In fact, it was aired last 2 yrs ago. Wouldn't that be plagiarism? Go to YouTube & watch both vids. You be the judge.

Somehow, I just can't express how ridiculously stupid my class timetable is. I have 6 hours break every Monday though I only have 2 subjects to attend for the day. Yes, you read that right. Moreover, the first class for the day commences at 8am while the last class starts at 4pm. See? Imagine waiting for endless hours just for the next lesson; knowing that the next lecturer will definitely cast a sleeping spell whenver she starts lecturing. It's bloody torturous!! T.T GUH. Spare me.

As you know, 6 hours are more than enough for a movie, lunch outing & some time off for window shopping; not to mention extra time for tea break too -_-. On the first Monday in January, me & friends decided to visit Sunway Pyramid. We bought tickets for this movie called Codename: The Cleaner cuz everyone seemed to have watch all the movies that I have not & intended to watch. Then, we ate at Nando's since we couldn't really make up our minds. Of course, group outings are always the best excuse for more camwhoring activities XD.

We're checking the menu. It'd better be good~

Meanwhile, the rest are goofing around XD

A pic is not complete unless the whole gang is in! ^^

When the food came...

Just look at our hungry faces~ XD

Food was so-so (service was bad) so there's no reason to elaborate on that. By the time we're done eating, we were so fashionably late cuz the movie already started for about 5-10 mins. I think all of us sat there & watch mindlessly as we had no idea how the story started. Thankfully, the plot wasn't too complicated for us to pick up our pace from the part we missed. That movie was funny but it got lame pretty quick. There were some notable scenes worth mentioning. For example, how often do you see a grandma getting aroused when she gets whacked continuously on the butt by a black guy? Totally random~ *rofl*

We still had exactly 2 hrs after exiting the cinema hall. Can you imagine it? Even a movie is not enough to fill up our length break. We even had time for tea break at J.Co Donuts & Coffee. It was my first visit there; not to mention my first time tasting 12 different donut flavours simultaneously & sharing among ourselves. Definitely an exciting experience!

Good stuff always comes in a huge box. ^^

Can you resist the sweet temptation?? I just lurrvve the glaze & Oreo flavour ones.

Eating donuts alone can stuff you up. We had to take a walk, no matter what. We ventured further into the new wing of Sunway Pyramid & came upon this area where the interior looked a little...Middle Eastern? Just had to take a shot cuz the lighting & ambience looks damn good.

There's this tidbits shop which sells a myriad of snacks, crackers & candies bla bla; you name it. When I was about to enter the shop, I noticed something. Mountains of chicken floss & dried tidbits were piling at the back of the shop. OMG! Those can probably last me a lifetime from the rate I take these sweet, sour & salty tidbits. o_O

Last pic of the day. I guess we were too bored. Whatever it is, 6 hrs is definitely too hard to bear. Hopefully when our next plan to watch Sweeney Todd wouldn't be as bad. Ah Sweeney aka Johnny Depp, you look darn cool! *glomps movie poster*
