Goodbye, Michael

Tuesday, June 30, 2009

One's passing is a norm; another part & parcel of life but when the news broke about an icon's death, legions of fans can't help feeling shocked & terribly upset & devastated. Especially when it's none other than the King of Pop himself, Michael Jackson. Honestly, I was incredibly shocked when my colleague informed us over breakfast that morning. My mind was blank for a few minutes. I didn't know how to react as I was struggling to digest those words, half hoping that I've heard wrongly. It's undeniably true, however.

Upon reaching home after an exhausting day, I quickly joined the rest of my family to tune into CNN. His death was too sudden & yes, I admit that I found it difficult to accept the fact he's no longer here. Who would've expected that he has short-lived when all this while, I have this general idea that a legend like Michael would live on & die of old age. Not like what's reported - overdose of prescription drugs.

I'm not an avid fan, in fact. Nevertheless, I grew up listening to his songs & watching his lengthy movie-like MVs; awed by this amazingly talented singer cum dancer. I remember watching his entire collection of videos on laser disc 10 years ago, not to mention playing this really lame & funny MJ game in the arcade centre - with a fuzzy Smooth Criminal tune playing from the game machine speakers. Those memories still remain vivid in my mind. Out of all the songs that he wrote, the one that brought me tears is Heal The World each time it was played. His innocent voice with a tinge of sadness in this song without doubt tug many heartstrings of compassionate souls out there. Most importantly, his songs spoke clearly of the world around us & the need for us to make a change.

There I was sitting in the living room while Heal The World was aired on Channel V; tearing up & pondering about the fact that humans are so cruel to take advantage of his innocence; denying the liberty & privacy that he very well deserved all this while. What good did it bring with all the evil plots to take his money now that he's no longer alive? If only you knew that you're loved this much, I believe all your sorrows will can be dealt with or perhaps remedied. Rest in peace, our beloved King of Pop...

If you enter this world knowing you are loved, and you leave this world knowing the same, then everything that happens in between can be dealt with.
-Michael Jackson

The revenge is not over

Sunday, June 28, 2009

The movie I've been waiting for such a long time has finally reach our shores.

Decepticons' leader, Megatron is back to seek revenge of a previously lost battle with the Autobots. With the presence of The Fallen & new robots being introduced throughout the movie, it had definitely got me glued to the screen. More robots meant massive robot wars & that equals to awesomeness XD. Much better than the first one. Not to mean that the first one ain't good but I'd say that the sequel sorta depicted the robots a little more accurately. At least the filmmakers did put some effort to stay loyal to the original.

I won't be saying much about the movie. You go watch it & be the judge. For me, the movie kicked ass! What else would you be keen to oggle at besides witnessing the gigantic robots battle among themselves? Ah, I know. The guys surely do gush over the hottest chick on the planet, Megan Fox. See how filmmakers are doing fanboys a favour. :P Of Not to forget the smexy cars featured in the movie. I think car enthusiasts are hyperventilating now.

Spot me on the web~

I'm feeling exhilarated & amused at the same time; seeing a photo of myself being exposed publicly. In a website, I mean.

I looked so funny. Haha. *rofl*

Something new to look for (not)

Saturday, June 20, 2009

Finally, I've decided to change my blog skin after using the old one for several months. It's starting to get a little boring, isn't it? I believe the transformation is for the better, signifying a fresh new start. Anywhow, it's not exactly a new start in my insignificant life story.

Although nothing much has changed lately in my life except for the fact that my workload has increased significantly. I'm not exactly sure if I should be shouting happily about it as I'm currently in a confused state at the moment. No doubt you're given more tasks & responsibilities to handle when you've successfully gain others' trust. Could be signs of a future promotion, no? Or just another false hope?

But think about it...what if the workload is testing your capabilities to the max? And it didn't mean that you're lacking the abilities. It's just that the workload has become a burden that you feel guilty for not able to deliver as promised. Especially when the stack of paperwork which by right should be delegated to several people ended up piling high on your desk. Indeed you're delighted that your responsibilities have increased as it's a sign that people trust you. However, a part of you feels dejected at the same time. =(

It's a horrible feeling. What can you & I do?? Tolerate. That's the only word that can be applied on a universal basis in the outside world. If that word doesn't exist in your vocabulary, you risk losing your job no matter where you go. So where exactly can you go, huh? Start your own business then.

OneNote is the way to go!

I just installed Office 2007 this afternoon & was doodling around with this new program that I've not used before previously. I believe it's not new to many of you out there but it certainly is, at least to me.

I find it pretty versatile for note-taking purpose & organising the dozens of important notes taken during meetings & lectures. Or even organising your schedule. Works somewhat like your personal organiser. Too bad I didn't have the luxury of owning this program while I was still in university.

I'm still in the midst of familiarising it & I'm pretty sure that there's more to this than meets the eye. Hehe. There must be some hidden features that I've yet to discover. ;)

The return of the Judgement Day

Sunday, June 07, 2009

It's been a long time since the last trip to the movies with WL & since it's the start of the summer blockbuster season, we decided to watch Terminator Salvation. The movie seems good judging from the casting of Christian Bale as the legendary John Connor, leader of the Resistance.

As much as I'm captivated with the brilliant use of graphics forming the Terminator face from the ruins of LA in this promotional poster, the same can't be said for the movie itself. It was action packed but the plot & character building left much to be desired. The story ain't focussed on John Connor who initially is one of the army troops of the Resistance & then later became the prophecised leader. It was more about Marcus Wright, a prisoner soon to face a death sentence row - donated his body for science. What he didn't realise was that the project led to the development of a half-man half-robot, kept in Skynet's underground lab (known as Cyberdyne then) for decades & to serve its purpose as an infiltrator to the humans, more so the Resistance.

Sounds interesting, huh? Well, what's lacking is that...argh, I really don't know what's missing. When a movie kinda sucks, you'll know it immediately while watching it. There were plenty of loopholes & flaws in the movie that it'll take you days to ponder about it. So don't bother. And shouldn't John Connor be dead from the nuclear blast on the underground lab at the beginning? Or perhaps die from the massive shockwave of the aftermath? Furthermore, I'm amused that Marcus Wright can be put to sleep using general anaesthetics for heart transplant. He actually still has veins, ah ha! No organs though.

There you have it - a brief review about the movie. I can definitely say that it's better than Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines but worse than the first two Terminator movies. It's sad that the movie missed out so much points that even a high profile star like Christian Bale failed to boost the ratings. In conclusion, it's the end when the story sucks.

Lucky Number 4

Friday, May 29, 2009

It was me & WL's dinner date as usual when we don't have the chance to watch movie together. I would say this time our date is rather special cuz he drove all the way to Sg Wang. Gosh, I can't remember the last time I went there for shopping, not to mention having meals there. Seems long, long ago...

We finally settled down at U-Village Restaurant ala char chan teng style to ease our hungry little stomachs. Food was okay, not great. But what can expect from this kind of restaurant, right? When my order arrived, I was rather puzzled to see a piece of thin ikan bilis-like fish as a garnishing on my rice. Coupled with a few pieces of sweet & sour pork and some half-cooked veggie (felt so tough eating it...*sighs*), my dish was plain weird. To top it off, the deep-fried pork contained almost 90% flour only. Very cost saving, no? WL's salted fish braised pork or something like that tasted like kong po style instead. Not too bad, actually.

The bill came & we were amused by the amount to be paid.

Bad feng shui number or potential number for lottery strike? Quit rolling your eyes. I know it's lame but we both find it really peculiar. Especially when our net total was RM40.40 with service tax of RM4.04. It's lucky number 4 for me & WL. Hmm, maybe my darling should try his luck on a 4D lottery. After all, small bets are of no harm. ;)

Six months over & off the hook

This post title speaks for itself. I'm officially confirmed as the permanent employee in the company I'm working in now. Wee! Benefits of a such status would be...

THE ELIGIBILITY OF TAKING ANNUAL LEAVE!!

Nyahaha~ XD

Big deal, yeah? :P Hehe. Of course. I no longer have to endure another round of pay cuts if there's a need to take leave from work. Perhaps taking time off for a vacation?? Hmm...

First Trip Part 2 ♥

Tuesday, May 12, 2009

I have to make another post for this as there's still much more to be told. At least to preserve these sweet moments in case my memory starts to wane in the near future XD. We started off a pretty lazy Saturday morning reason being I didn't have a good sleep the night before due to minor stomach ache. And poor WL could hardly sleep a wink, worried that I'm falling sick - wrapping his arms around me every now & then to check whether I'm alright. Aww...

There were complimentary breakfast for our one-night stay at the First World Cafe. But as quoted by WL, he wanted to continue his slumber & the free breakfast probably tastes mediocre. Being a breakfast person, I can't afford to miss the most important meal of the day (unless I wake up at 11.30am XD). And so I had sumptuous...or rather a wholesome & fattening breakfast from McD's again. The set menu that comes with 2 pcs of hotcakes (in other words pancakes), a slice of chicken sausage patty, hash brown coupled with a cup of tea/coffee.

After checking out of the hotel, we went for lunch & then for our last sightseeing for the day. Just to enjoy the last few hours of the cooling air before heading home. We stopped by at the convention hall for some praying as it was Wesak Day. Then we drove off the car to another parking closer to the location that we intend to sightsee Unfortunately, the cooling air can only be felt at certain parts of the highlands & the weather got a little sunny. Knowing that the higher you are above sea level, you tend to feel the sun rays even more than in the lowlands.

There's a little garden built facing the deep ravines, overlooking the horizon below. For me, it was pretty scary standing there even if it's only to take pic. I just realised that I'm a little acrophobic as my legs was midly weak while leaning against the railings.

WL was there so I could say that my fear diminished quite a lot. ^^

The garden seemed fine to me though nothing extraordinary. I supposed I'm only making an excuse to camwhore so that I have more pics to post, eh? =P

Gee, the fountain really sucks~ =/

This is the last shot we took before going home...

It was rather sad that the trip ended so quickly. You tend to wish that everyday is like this - relaxed & worry-free. Now it makes me wonder how long do I need to wait for another trip; just the two of us. Hopefully soon.

First Trip Part 1 ♥

Sunday, May 10, 2009

The first trip away from home with your beloved will always have a special place in your heart. Mine is no less similar to other romantic souls out there. Me & WL first trip together was up at the highlands of Genting. What made us decide to go there? Firstly, it's the nearest place I could only go to. Secondly, the weather was scorching hot for the whole week. The heat wave was almost unbearable that I thought I might passed out of dehydration. WL kept on complaining that he's constantly bathing in sweat that his underwear is soaking wet. Thirdly, it was a pretty tough & exhausting week in the office that both of us were in need of a relaxing weekend off. Therefore, Genting was the most viable option as the journey is less taxing.

The most craziest thing I've ever done was taking a half day leave to travel together with WL. Nevertheless, it was a good move. Otherwise, we might've been caught in a huge Friday jam. Upon arrive at First World, I sat down while waiting for WL to check in; fighting off my drooping, sleepy eyes. The lobby was not any different from my last visit 5 years ago. Everything was as familiar as if 5 years ago seemed like yesterday.

Upon checking in, I was relieved & glad to see that the deluxe room is more spacious than the standard room I stayed previously. Well at least, the bathroom & toilet is together XD. Long story cut short, we went for dinner at about 8pm. And I mean, only the first round of dinner. Why? As usual, Genting is known for its lack of affordable & delicious food outlets. Fast food outlets are the only places where you can get pay for dirt cheap fairly "affordable" food. We were unlucky to lay hands on pretty awful looking chicken rice that tasted disastrous, which left our tummies totally unsatisfied. =(

Still determined to stuff in more food, we decided to take a stroll in the outdoors at night. Boy, what an experience! From the indoors of the exclusive Highland Hotel...

...to hanging out at Coffee Bean's alfresco area at 10pm for about half an hour.

Walking around aimlessly on wet grounds in the dark - clinging tightly to WL's arms whilst the cold, icy wind brushed against our faces - was the most romantic thing I've ever done in my life. Despite the cold weather, I felt so much warmth. Not only cuz he was there to keep me warm...I was really safe in his arms. At that moment, it seemed that we've known each other for a long time; understood each other so well. I realised that I'm starting to love him more than ever...

We retreated to the indoors of First World Plaza as the low temperature outside was becoming unbearable. After all, it was time for our 2nd round of gastronomic feast. Ahh~ The wonderful creation of fast food! A wholesome supper to indulge in before bedtime XD. This pic was taken at Burger King while WL ran down to get McD's for me.*swoons* Another romantic gesture from him...how sweet~ Btw, I just realised that he was caught on camera while ascending the stairs =P

Then we had a few rounds of camwhore session. What better way to allow your food to digest before going to bed XD. Like they said, pics paint a thousand words. Pics, pics & more pics!

More to come. Stay tune! ^^

Girls, please watch this space...

Monday, May 04, 2009

I'm commenting this in relation to those girls gone missing cases that are becoming rampant these days. Either they're being murdered or raped by their boyfriends. What's even more frustrating is that they actually go out for dates after getting to know the guy for merely weeks. And why on earth would you go out with a guy alone whom you've only chatted online for less than 3 months?

I wonder, can girls really be that dumb & easily cheated? =( I read these news with a painful heart knowing that the majority of the males' image have been tarnished by irresponsible boys reported in the news. It's truly unfair to the rest of the guys who respects & treats women well. Girls, this is a wake-up call to y'all. Please, please...take good care of yourselves. Open your eyes & search carefully. Guys are nice living creatures if you mix with the right ones.

Korean feast...the good & bad

Friday, May 01, 2009

I'm not that adventurous when it comes to trying new things, particularly food. For that matter, it never crossed my mind that I would lay my hands on Korean cuisine. Instant noodles were an exception though. All this while, I thought that Korean food will end up giving me an awful experience. Therefore, I already have a presumptuous opinion on how Korean food (should) taste like.

After WL took me to Daorae at Kota Damansara, it proved my presumptions wrong. Korean food actually rocks! Sans the kimchi though. Cuz I was never fond of spicy sour-like food i.e. assam laksa that makes me cringes each time I put them in my mouth. Kimchi was not any better which is why I find it a little difficult to digest. =/ Little did I know that irregardless of what you order, you'll be served with mini dishes to complement your main course. You may call it appetizers as you please.

The main course which WL selected - bbq chicken & pork were obviously good. We tried the ginseng chicken & omg...it tasted like heaven~ (that's was what I thought so). With that, I have a general idea of Korean dish being one of the most delicious & unique dish.

Mind you, however, not all Korean restaurants can cook up such a feat. Even more so if it's some so-called exquisite, expensive dining. The farewell dinner we had for our colleague at GoGung, The Gardens was a perfect example of a expensive but less than satisfactory dining experience. I dare say we paid an exorbitant price for merely 3-4 dishes. On top of that, the taste was mediocre. It was a total rip-off. There you have it, the good & bad of my experience indulging in Korean food. Go for Daorae - more affordable & yummy too! =)

Another one gone

Wednesday, April 29, 2009

A couple of months ago, two managers decided to leave after years of service in the company I work for. It was quite a sad moment for most of us cuz it feels like we have lost two great leaders. For me, it's a little unfortunate reason being I didn't have the opportunity to know them better. Or perhaps work with them in any other way.

Today is the last day for one of my colleagues. On that day I found out she has tender her resignation letter, I was utterly shocked. I didn't expect that she would make such a quick decision. No doubt, among a few of us had certainly consider leaving. Anyways, these are P&C info & therefore I shall not reveal much.

I felt a tinge of sadness when she broke the news that she's leaving. It's only barely 5 months that I got to know her. She has been a great senior, guiding me through until I was accustomed to the work flow. Being the elder one, she gave me advices on many things. And I shared opinions on issues that she finds it difficult to tackle. Indeed, she has become a friend in the office before WL came into my life.

On the other hand, WL knew her for more than a year. What made their friendship so strong was the fact that they shared many experiences together. They'd struggled & was on the verge of giving up but in the end, strived hard to achieve their goals. No one, not even me can ever understand the good & bad times they've gone through. Honestly, I felt quite sad for the both of them. Upon seeing WL in his usual antics - jokingly criticising her while she quickly rebounded saying that she won't be missing him, it was all too fake. I felt for him too when he's upset.

The fact that he gave her a farewell hug last night didn't ignite my jealousy towards my dear colleague. Truth is...I was glad that WL hugged her cuz she needed it more than anything from her closest friend. There was a mixture of jealousy & envy towards her for knowing WL so much; that as a gf, I felt inadequate & such a failure cuz I don't know much about him. After some serious thinking, it was so silly of me to even have this kind of feeling towards her. It must be due to my own insecurities lately that might have led to such low self-esteem.

Despite all that, I really miss her deeply. It's like losing another friend in my life. However, I guess this is the harsh reality of life. People come & go, but it's friends that leave a mark in your life - memories that you'll cherish in time to come. I hope all is well for her. Good luck & take care, dear friend!

Peaceful & serene

Wednesday, April 22, 2009

Today is one of those days that only come by once in a while. My company held an AGM session for the whole day & as expected, all the managerial positions were required to be present. I overheard that the scale of the meeting is very much reduced this year. Therefore, fewer manpower is needed to be on standby for ad-hoc duties. Which left me with nothing else to help out except staying in the office instead.

I arrived at my office with the usual bustling sounds of people walking around, the wheezing sound from the photocopier when it starts warming up & the little chatters among colleagues. Not to mention the vigorous tapping on the keyboard resonating in the room. Soon enough, my colleagues departed to the venue while I was left alone at my workstation.

The air was so still that even a prick of a needle might've echoed every corner of the office. Furthermore, there was no other staff from other departments dropping by for queries. This made the environment amazingly comfortable to work in. I admit that I did feel sleepy occasionally due to the stillness but it gave me the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to blast the music off my desktop; so loud that even WL can hear me from the other side of the department. :P

While WL was buried in between his pile of workload, I felt safe & secured. I wasn't alone. Every now & then, I went to his place to distract him for several minutes (I know this is bad~ XD) before I went searching for more work to do. How often do you get days like this? With no one to bug you for ad-hoc stuff or your immediate superiors setting insanely tight deadlines to complete impossible tasks. Of course, it's a little too laidback if this goes on. But everyone needs to take a breather. If not, how can they be productive? Agree?

A year older means a whole lot difference

Sunday, April 19, 2009

I'm blogging this exactly one month after my birthday. Yes, it's a long awaited post that should've been posted last month. But you know, a post wouldn't be complete without pics & I finally got them from my colleague ^^.

This year is different from previous years not cuz it's more extravagant than before. Reason being the celebration is somewhat special & had succesfully stamp a place in my heart. I already expected a mini celebration among my colleagues as it is customary in my company to buy cake for the birthday boy/girl. What I did not expect is...receiving a sweet surprise from none other than the one who makes me happy & sad at the same time, my dear WL.

This is what he gave me...

...and a delicious chocolate cake for my personal indulgence XD

Why two bouquets? Long story cut short, it was supposed to be a bouquet of 24 roses (red & pink). But the florist made a mistake & in the end, sent two instead. To WL, the plan turned out to be a blunder. I wish he knew that I was deeply touched by his efforts. And perhaps it was good that the florist caused this mistake cuz two bouquets made a more significant impact. Who would've expected receiving two large bouquets from the same person? ^^ Believe it or not, I was fighting hard to hold back my tears. Embarrassing, isn't it? Or else, WL would start calling me silly one again. Haha.

It was indeed costly & definitely didn't last for more than a week. Nevertheless, it was the thought that mattered. WL, not knowing what gift would suit me - decidedly ordered them after office hours. No wonder he cheekily asked me what kind of flowers I fancy the most prior to my birthday *blushes*. Unfortunately, we didn't manage to celebrate over the weekend together. He was quite adamant about it but I assured him that there was no one to blame. Falling sick on that weekend was untimely, that's all. We didn't meet up over the weekend & somehow distance tend to make our hearts grow fond of each other even more. ♥

What I'm trying to point out here is that growing up, then get out to the working world & meeting people from different walks of life eventually leads you to the man you're searching for. So it pays to be a little patient ^^. As for my beloved sis, she gave me a lovely present too.

Another cheeky one like WL =P I saw that she was doing some project on silkscreen printing & she did a cat. I obviously didn't know that she added some humour to it. And it turned out so adorable! This further proves that great gifts come from the heart irrespective of the value. My dear WL & beloved sis, thank you for making my day! *hugs & kisses*

Omg...it's so 90s!

Monday, April 13, 2009

The other day I was too bored & decided to dig up some old videos to watch. Imho, YouTube was the answer to (almost) all things old & new alike. With one click, voila! There you have it...the video that you've been looking for. So I searched for clips of singers from the 90s. The search results brought back many long forgotten memories during my heydays. I didn't realise that I knew the lyrics to almost every single 90s boybands/girlbands songs until I started singing along to the clips. Fast forward 10 years later, the words just flowed easily out of my mouth. Gosh...

I hate to admit this but I used to adore 911 so much when I was 11 years old.

~Credits to pi's 911 site~

I still remember that I always gush at the image of my favourite member, Lee Brennan. What do you expect? Please accept the fact that I was reaching puberty age, hence that's how the squeals/flailings/ogglings came about when such a cutie pie like Lee actually exists. XD Looking back makes me laugh out loud cuz the outfits were so 90s. You know, I really can't imagine myself dressing like that. o.O

And there's this underrated singer whom I've been having a secret crush too all this while :P. It's none other than Kavana.

It's a pity that he stopped releasing albums during the peak of his career. Apparently, he decided to move to US to expand his music influence but somehow failed & ended up working as songwriter for artistes. There were many favourite boybands such as Backstreet Boys & N'Sync that I faithfully listen to before the fad died down in the early 2000.

I'd have to say that it feels good to re-live those memories again. Nevertheless, once the fad is gone...it's gone forever. It would be meaningless to revive it again as the ex-members are too old for vigorous synchronised dance. Oh, the horror of watching grown-up men dancing likes they were in their teens! O.O The 90s boyband craze was good while it lasted. It should remain in the past, as it should be.

I'm amazed that South Korea is still going strong in terms of producing teenage boybands. It works & I dare say that they managed to capture my heart as a matured lady fan of 東方神起. With my current financial capability, the fandom is crazier than ever as compared to my youthful days. Even ladies who never liked Western boybands became obsessed with pretty boys. This shows that it's never too late to become a fangirl. Lets just say that the boyband craze has evolved, not defunct. Pop will always prevail irrespective of the direction the music industry heading into.

Wired again

Friday, April 10, 2009

After almost having no access to the Internet, I'm finally back online. Ahhh! Behold, what a great feeling~ I've been feeling rather tired lately for some unknown reason. Could be due to work or ppl around me. Or just plain tired with life, so to speak.

Sometimes I wished that I didn't have to grow up. Growing up is already a painful experience for me; with an incredibly low self-esteem due to many lack ofs. To live as a grown no less taxing either. Despite all that, I'm amazed at myself for having such determination to pass through these stages. What would be the left of me should I failed miserably?

*sighs* I tend to ponder the meaning of life (more like unnecessary stuff) when I'm sick, I tell ya. The brain is all messed up & all I can think of is the negative side & suddenly there's no happiness left in this world. I felt only sorrows & miseries come crashing down on me. -.-" God, I'm such a pessimist.

Anyways, it's good to be back online again ^^. It was like hell troublesome not able to surf the net for the stuff that you need, things you need to do. More personal time for blogging too. I know I haven't been blogging lately. Therefore, I'm trying hard to keep up with the posts that I've yet to publish. Keep a look out, peeps. ^^

Vrooooommm...are you up for a fast & furious race?

Saturday, April 04, 2009

The 4th instalment of The Fast & The Furious was released two days ago.

And I watched it already! How nice that is~ XD Haha. All I can say is that this movie is surprisingly...okay. Knowing that a film with a theme based solely on nothing else other than cars, racing & babes; it can't get any better. From the past sequels that I've seen, the concept is pretty much the same. I thought Tokyo Drift was pretty cool cuz I was always fascinated by the art of drifting.

This movie featured much lesser car racing scenes but instead focussed more on developing the plot. Honestly, it's not bad for a try as I personally prefer watching movies with a strong storyline. However, I don't think I can stand another Fast & Furious franchise. It's gonna be boring unless the filmakers input fresher ideas. But how fresh can you get with these movies? *shrugs*

Another week of MPO performances! This week's is by far the best one I've ever watched after Viennese New Year. Firstly, the show was approx 2 hours long. Secondly, the crowd were mainly young & old adults alike. Unlike those irritating kiddos & inconsiderate parents present at last week's concert. I'd have to say yesterday's performance was so beautiful that it felt like I was lost in another realm. Good music knows no boundaries, age, gender & colour.

Songs were taken from award winning films & those noteworthy of an Oscar nomination. A short glance at the song lineup, one can feel shivers & goosebumps all over. Cuz it's one hell of great listing that I'm anticipating.

1. The Untouchables
2. Out of Africa
3. Ben Hur
4. The Godfather
5. To Kill A Mockingbird
6. Meet Me in St Louis
7. When you wish upon a star
8. Silverado
9. Gone with the Wind
10. The High and Mighty
11. Doctor Zhivago
12. The Gay Divorcee
13. The Man Who Knew Too Much
14. The Wizard of Oz
15. The Magnificent Seven

The highlight of the show is two solo performances by Whitney Claire Kaufman, daughter of Richard Kaufman who conducted last week performance too. Such a lovely sight to witness the intense chemistry between these two talented people showcasing their musical prowess - one with a brilliant voice, one with strong passion.

I was almost moved to tears when she performed a rendition of Somewhere Over the Rainbow, originally sung by Judy Garland; accompanied by MPO. What's even more surprising is that I didn't realise that one of the commonly used theme in HK dramas actually belonged to Out of Africa. It was unbelievably beautiful to hear it live. I was crossing fingers wishing that they would play that again. Nevertheless, E.T. was played as an encore. Better than nothing, huh ^^. I definitely wouldn't mind attending another round of performance like this. Hopefully one that plays videogame soundtracks particularly from Final Fantasy. =D
