Getting married

Thursday, October 01, 2009

It's been great pleasure to announce that my mum's sis (aka my aunt) is finally getting married. Or should I say, already married. =) The long wait is finally over.

My aunt & her future hubby had chosen to be wedded at the Buddhist temple at Brickfields for both the blessing & the marriage registration. It's like killing two birds in one. Hehe. It is indeed an eye-opening experience for me; seeing couples officially tying the knot upon the marriage certificate is signed & sealed.

Couples were blessed at the Buddhist temple with two monks chanting prayers for 5-10 mins. Meanwhile, family & friends are welcomed to join in the praying - in return giving donations in kind to support the welfare of the temple caretakers.

As soon as the prayers were completed, we ascended the stairs up to the registrar office. We sat at the waiting area quietly while waiting for our turn to be called in for the registration ceremony. There was a glass window at the judge's office facing the waiting area in which we could see through. It was definitely nerve-wrecking for both my aunt & her future hubby cuz they couldn't wait to settle everything once & for all.

Just to create a less tensed environment, I persuaded them to pose for the camera. =P

Few minutes later, it was our turn. Or should I say, my aunt & her life partner's turn to enter the office. The couple sits across the judge while witnesses from each side of the couple's family/friends sit opposite each other as shown below. As you can see, my mum was nominated as my aunt's sole witness.

As the judge read the oath, my aunt & her partner fidgeted anxiously on their seats - probably thinking of what to say or what to do when the moment arrives. Once the couple had declared "I do", they were told to exchange rings for one another. Next, they moved on to signing the marriage certificate followed by signatures from both parties' witnesses. Voila! They're pronounced a married couple~ Congratulations! The judge was courteous enough to take a few seconds posing for the camera with my aunt & her hubby. =)

Simple as it was, the entire process was quite an experience for me. It makes me wonder about the future when it'll be my turn to walk that aisle. Such a huge dutiful commitment...phew! Anyways, perhaps it's still to early to ponder over it & get myself worked up for nothing. When the time comes, I supposed I'll be more than ready. ;)

Exhausted & demotivated

Wednesday, September 30, 2009

I've been given a job promotion. But sadly, I'm not sure if it's a happy thing to shout about. Especially when things are in a total mess right now. I do enjoy a certain part of my new responsibility. However, I realised I became less efficient cuz I now have to deal with people who are exceptionally difficult to work with. On top of that, it's impossible to leave my old job behind.

*sighs* I'm so drained out & I need help. Hoping that things will become a little wee bit easier in months to come. Crossing my fingers now. I really don't know how long I can go on like this. How demotivating. =(

All Shiny White Date Day 14

Thursday, September 10, 2009

D-day has finally arrived! Or should I say today is my big day. One final task to do & I'll be heading to paint the town red white. With my darling WL, of course.

Brush twice a day & I'm all set for tonight. =)

All Shiny White Date Day 13

Wednesday, September 09, 2009

Omg, it's the 13th day already. How time flies! Tomorrow will be the final day for my preparation. And I'll off to for my perfect white day. As usual, I wouldn't miss my daily regime of keeping my teeth sparklingly clean with a scent of fresh minty breath.

It's makeup time. With the right selection of colours, any ordinary girl can be transformed into a beautiful "princess". My task is to identify the type of look that I want to achieve for my date. Be it the sweet, innocent lady or a sexy siren.

Knowing that my facial features wouldn't be able to pull of a sexy, sultry image...I've decided to go for a sweet, innocent look to highlight my natural beauty. I feel that pastel colours would suit me more. Those dark colours would probably make me look like a drag queen =P

Day 12!! Two more days to go. Can't wait~ XD

Let's brush, brush. Keep on brushing for that dazzling white teeth.

All Shiny White Date Day 11

Monday, September 07, 2009

Eleven days & counting...to my fabulous white date with my beloved. Can't wait! What better way to charm my date with a perfect white smile? With Darlie's All Shiny White toothpaste, of course.

A beautiful dress is incomplete without a perfect shoe to match. After much searching, I've decided to pick this shoe to complement my date. =)

It's the Cole Haan Ceci Air Rose Slingback with fabulous rosette details & designed with Nike Air technology for extra comfort. It sure is expensive but definitely super duper comfortable.

After all, who wants to go on a date & having to fake your smile while your ill-fated shoes are pinching hard on your feet? You can always flaunt your style without compromising comfort.

The last & final destination

Sunday, September 06, 2009

I was in for a bloody, gory movie yesterday. Movies that I never thought that I would pay to watch in the cinema. I decided to give it a try since WL had shown much interest in this massive killing movie.

It didn't turn out to be scary like you would expect from horror movies. Of course, the movie was as disgusting as you can imagine it could be. I thought I'd nearly puked. You see human flesh get squashed & minced into pieces just like you insert meat into a food processor. Eww...

In general, I personally prefer the 3rd instalment of the movie. Not that I'm huge fan but this 4th movie is so ridiculously short - merely 1 hour 40 mins - that it's definitely a waste of every dollar we spent. The plot is predictable like all Final Destination movies but I remember the previous ones were much better, to be honest. Nevertheless, it was a good experience watching with WL cuz I was holding on to his arm tightly each horrific scene appears. XD Felt so good that he's around.

All Shiny White Date Day 10

Believe it or not, it's already 10 days that I've gone through the preparation for my white date. Four days left & I'll have a perfect white date with my dream guy.

But before that, I need to freshen up my breath & brighten my smile with Darlie's toothpaste, All Shiny White. Dazzlingly white~

All Shiny White Date Day 9

Saturday, September 05, 2009

It's Day 9 already! Five more days to the white date with my perfect guy. I can never forget my daily regime - using Darlie's All Shiny White toothpaste for fresh minty that lasts almost the entire day.

Every inch of a female needs attention in order to look her best. The next important thing is the crowning glory - hair. Choosing the right style is essential in order to create a presentable & attractive image. The hairstyle & colour should at least reflect one's individuality & enhance her image by highlighting the good; hiding the flaws.

I'm not as fortunate as some ladies who are blessed with thick, dark beautiful hair that looks good no matter what kind of hairstyles they adopt. For me, I have to be very selective & so far...I looked the best in soft, luscious curls. Something like...

...this.

This.

Or this.

I bet my date couldn't lift his eyes off me after seing such gorgeous tresses. =) My perfect white date, here I come!

All Shiny White Date Day 8

Friday, September 04, 2009

I just can't get enough of brushing with Darlie's toothpaste. So refreshingly minty & the white effect is to die for...

Surely my white date can't resist the temptation to lean over to me for a kiss! XD

MUACKS~~

All Shiny White Date Day 7

Thursday, September 03, 2009

With constant brushing using Darlie's All Shiny White toothpaste, there is a no doubt that my teeth is sparkling white every single day.

Ohh la la...that's shiny!

Next, it's time for me to go for a manicure to groom my little nails. Which guy wouldn't wanna hold the hands of his girl with such beautilicious, perfectly polished nails? Long, beautiful nails exudes a sense of feminity & charm in a woman/girl.

There were 5 different manicures to choose from & being a girly person that I am, I settled for the Garden of Eden. It's painted with light pink varnish plus floral patterns "airbrushed" on it & coupled with some shiny studs to add a bling effect to it.

I'm ready to roll~ Can't wait for my white date with my perfect dream guy...or should I say, with WL? ;)

Time for brushing!!

And a little facial that do wonders for the skin. It's important to identify the type of skin you have as each individual differs from one another. This is to ensure that the right products that suits the skin is used & prevent any further outbreaks or skin complications.

Ladies with dry or normal skin is advised to use foam cleanser cuz it helps to maintain a moisturised skin. Whereas gel cleanser is recommended for ladies with oily skin so as to wash out dirt & excess sebum that might lead to blemishes & outbreaks i.e. pimples, acne yadi yada.

After wash, moisturiser can be applied to dry or normal skin to keep it hydrated. Otherwise, ladies with more oily skin should stay away from moisturisers. And then you do mask once a week to restore its natural smoothness & radiance. Cucumber slice works wonders in treating tired eyes & tensed skin due to its cooling effect.

Voila! Here I am with beautiful fair skin, simply irresistible to him.

All Shiny White Date Day 4

Monday, August 31, 2009

As simple as 1-2-3, as easy as ABC. Brushing my teeth with Darlie's All Shiny White toothpaste makes them sparkingly clean with fresh minty breath. ^^

P.S. Some people might be wondering why I'm posting my daily progress of the contest & help promote the brand. Well, I don't get paid out of doing this but I'm doing it willingly cuz it keeps me busy working on writing & posting up new stuff in order to keep my little blog alive. I'll become really lazy if I don't use some of my brain juice to think of a topic to type about on my humble lappie, y'know. It keeps me going when life seems bleak & less motivating. Furthermore, I have some avid followers (though not many) who drives me to blog even more. Very encouraging. =)

All Shiny White Date Day 3

Sunday, August 30, 2009

Dear peeps, it's the third day. Let's see what's the task lined up for me. *determined*

It's non-stop brushing time. After that, it's time for "dress shopping". Basically, I'm supposed to hunt for a white dress that I would wear to my white date. On one condition, it has to be a spot-on dress that will dazzle him to the point where he can't possibly peel his eyes off you. Dress hunting, I did & narrowed down my options to two. It was seriously difficult to decide which one suits me best. Knowing that I don't go for flamboyant styles; in which to me is trying to hard to shout out loud. Simplicity, innocence & sweetness describe me the best; if that dress encompasses them - accentuating my curves & creating an illusion of a well-endowed bosom - it's more than enough to sweep WL off his feet. Ultimately, my white date is no other than him after all. ;)

I was contemplating between these two designs...

And the verdict is...

Dress 1 is interesting but I'd probably won't have enough boobs anyway to support the upper chest area. As you can see, the model is a little flat too & it didn't look very attractive to me. Wearing a push-up bra won't do justice either. A very chic dress but if it doesn't flatter my body, no-no. I felt Dress 2 will indeed highlight my chest area; creating a large bosom (illusion-wise). The material used is soft & flows well with the body. It exudes a certain charm - elegant yet simple, innocent, sweet & lady-like. A plus point to portray another side of me...youthful & feminine. Now I'm one step closer to my beautiful white date. ^^

Dress 2 is designed by Priscilla of Boston

Bad luck as ever

Hours ago I was ranting about how devastated I was when the HDD decided to fail without any prior warning. Guess what? The anklet tied around my left ankle in which WL bought from Vietnam broke into two. I seriously refused to believe what had happened a couple of minutes ago. First, one of the gem dropped of the anklet. I felt really bad about it.

Now it's worse cuz it's no longer wearable. Beyond repair. =(

T_______________T

I'm so not a happy girl right now.

HDD failed!

I always learn lessons the hard way & what's worse is that I never really learn to avoid the mistakes I made before. My good 'ol external hard drive decided to fail on me yesterday. And I DID NOT backup my files! *cries* Should've noticed the warning a few days ago when my PC could no longer detect it upon plugging into the USB port. *sighs*

To my horror, the drive is producing a clicking sound - what the tech people calls the "clicking sound of death". Besides tht, the drive is even emitting a rather strange beeping sound reminiscence of heart beat from a machine in a hospital ward. The drive has finally meet its doomed fate.

I should've known...I really should. What's even more devastating is that it's not my first time encountering data loss from a hard drive that decided to die out of the blue. Now I've completely lost all my collections of my old photos, Dong Bang videos, random files I've downloaded & wish to keep. T.T

All Shiny White Date Day 2

Saturday, August 29, 2009

It's the second day already! Time to accomplish the task of the day. So what's the mission?

MORE BRUSHING~

Yeah, of course. It's essential to keep our teeth clean & sparkling, preventing bad breath & cavities. Or else we'll end up frightening our dream guy away. No more white date then =(

P.S. I must be insane snapping a pic of myself brushing teeth in the bathroom =P

All Shiny White Date Day 1

Friday, August 28, 2009

Although the hype has started probably one-two months ago, I've decided that I didn't wanna be left out of the fun. And so I've embarked on a journey to tranform into a beautiful swan in 14 days; in preparation for the upcoming white date with my dream guy. It's not like I don't have one already but I WANT A WHITE DATE WITH WL!! =D

There are tasks to be completed each day throughout the 14 day duration in order to stand a chance to win attractive prizes. Sorry guys, this game is strictly for girls only as the grand prize is a designer handbag of our choice worth RM5,000. Unless you're planning to win it for your sweetie, it's unlikely that you'll participate cuz the activities are very female focused. ^^

Click on the thumbnail to start your journey now, girls~

My first task of the day is to virtually brush my teeth with Darlie's All Shiny White toothpaste for that extra sparkling whiteness.

Task 2 is easy-peasy-lemon-squeasy!

Due to restrictions, I was only allowed to send to 16 friends in my Facebook (you can play in either FB or the website). Hopefully they'll also join in the fun. Which gal would wanna miss the chance for such a gorgeous swag?

I've completed my tasks for Day 1. Incredibly easy~ Hehe. I'll have to wait until tomorrow before I'm given the next task in order to be in the running for the Grand Prize & also your dreamy white date. Stay tune!

Kissing under the (starry) night sky

I was out of office that day as part of my plan to clear some annual leave. On the other hand, WL was at work & wanting to see me - he asked me out for dinner. I agreed for I also mutually shared the same thought of wanting to see him so badly.

Towards the later evening, I sensed that he'd probably won't be able to make it...just like last time. A rush of disappointment overcame me no matter how hard I tried to control my emotions. My family was giving me a hard time at that moment made matters worse off. =(

Thankfully, WL came & took me out for a quick dinner. I wasn't in a good mood to begin with. But even then, WL tolerated & relied on his usual antics to cheer up the atmosphere. The restaurant we dined in, unfortunately, served pretty bad food coupled with poor service. Even the cheerful but tired from work WL couldn't hold on to his agitation with the unfriendly staff.

Nevertheless, our mood lighten up after dinner & as WL left for the washroom; I grabbed his car keys in which he left on the our table & slipped into my handbag. =P We left soon after he was out of the washroom - without me reminding him if he left anything. And he didn't seem to remember that he left something either - assuming that he had them all safely tucked in his pocket. How careless! Hehe.

As we approached the car at the outdoor carpark, he rummaged deep down his pockets & only to realise that the keys were missing. I stopped him before he could walk back in the direction of the restaurant & told him, "It's with me..." With that, he coiled his arms around my neck & playfully squeezed me for being such a naughty gal. I gingerly took out the keys & handed it to him. Upon taking it from me, WL grabbed me at the waist so quickly & pulled me close until our lips were inches close - whilst leaning on his car for support. My heart skipped a beat & without further a due, his lips touched mine.

I felt his warm breath tickled my cheeks as WL continued to hug me tightly as he moved on to a deep, passionate kiss. I responded to his deepening kiss & allowed myself to melt away like butter. Later we found out that someone was busy watching the entire scene. Though embarrassed, I pulled WL back into the car & continued smooching him for several minutes. I'd have to admit that this was the best kiss in my life. It's just like a scene out of a typical romantic comedy that I would watch on a lazy weekend afternoon. I think I'm even more in love with WL now...♥

Cookies galore

Monday, August 24, 2009

I spent the weekend putting my baking skills into practice. It wasn't my first time baking cookies. In fact, it's already my 3rd time baking - muffins was the 2nd thing i baked a couple of weeks back. Here's the result of my attempt in making the greatest pleasure snack in the world - chocolate chip cookies!

I suck at photography so this is the best I could come out with. Put aside the burned colour of the cookies due to an overheated oven, the recipe is almost perfect as the cookies is so fragrant & tasted buttery. A tad too sweet for my liking which is why I'm planning to reduce the white sugar drastically in the next round. Lesser sweetness allows room for additional chocolate chips. Yummy!

WL complimented that my baking skill has improved tremendously from the first time I baked shortbread cookies for his birthday. Indeed I was delighted & definitely striving to do better. Thanks my beloved "mice"~ *muacks* =)

Baby shower

Saturday, August 22, 2009

A colleague of mine who gave birth to a boy last month has finally thrown a baby shower to celebrate her baby's month old. One month old already, you ask? Yeah, see how time flies. I couldn't believe it myself either. On top of that, she had gone through a tremendous weight loss too. And she's looking as stunning as before. Happy for her~ =)

The party was organised at Mum's Place situated at Damansara Perdana. It serves mainly local Malaysian & nyonya dishes to whet your hungry appetites. The restaurant is rather huge & spacious; occupying both ground & first floors of two shoplots. The decor is very Javanese-influenced with teak wood fixtures & decorations donning the entire premise. The waiter ushered me & WL - twisting & turning around the premise leading to the banquet hall. We thought the restaurant has a rather strange layout but later found out the reason behind this long-winded journey. The restaurant also serves its function as an antique shop, hoping to tap on potential antique collectors who dine in as well. No wonder there were mini price tags seen dangling on some wooden pieces on display.

Food is pretty good & I was relieved that it wasn't as deadly spicy as descibed by my aunt. And thankfully, my colleague didn't order much spicy food in general. Phew~ I heard that the price ranged between RM40-50 plus. Seems expensive but I shouldn't be complaining. The restaurant offered generous servings of deer meat & mutton much to everyone's delight. Perhaps it's worth paying a second visit to try their ala carte menu. Or set menu. Whatever they have to offer.

Speaking of gifts, I'm glad that my colleague loved them. Imagine going with WL to shop for several packs of baby diapers, wet wipes & a boxful of baby essentials (lotion, powder, shampoo...yadi yada) on an early Saturday afternoon. Paranoid I may be, I thought I saw some kepohs casting curious looks on us. Do I looked like I already gave birth & WL fathering a six-month-old baby? -_-"

Drop dead tired

Friday, August 14, 2009

It's been really hectic & exhausting lately that I'm falling behind in updating my blog. Thousand apologies for that. My workload is tiring me down but nothing can be done at the moment. The request that I've brought up a month ago has not return with a positive response yet. Meanwhile, I'm still trying my best to hold on. *sighs* I wonder how much longer I can do that...

Today was a wee bit interesting day for me. I was on a trip to KL to observe my agency conducting dry sampling on a Cruiser. The entire process of negotiating with them for the project was long-winded & time consuming - with last minute changes along the way. This is mainly due to our indecisive nature & red tape issues that hinder the process. Thank God it was finally decided & I'm actually quite proud of what I've done. It was nothing huge nor incredible, but it was a good start in showcasing my negotiation skills.

The first day was quite good, to be honest. Response was obviously good cuz as you all know that Malaysians love receiving freebies. Whether they would consider the product purchase is unknown, most of the time. Neverthless, the crowd's demographics matched our target market very well & I strongly believe that's a plus point. We'd at least managed to create awareness & entice trials among these potential consumers. The only problem that needs to be rectified is to ensure good distribution of products at outlets in order to reach to these consumers as much as possible. That...is something beyond my control.

At the end of the day, the Cruiser team were already dehyrated & almost starving with hunger. We were all treated with a sumptuous meal at a Thai restaurant facing Jalan Raja Chulan...err, I think. Or Jalan Sultan Ismail? Gosh, whatever. It's situated at the Pasar Tengahari road behind The Weld. I personally never fancy Thai food but this restaurant is not bad. I don't remember the name precisely but if I'm not wrong, it's Paradise Lodge. It has a very nice ambience with a pond garden cum walkway to the entrance.

Interesting day, it was. I'm having sores all over now for walking too much; the first & last thing I need now is to have a good night's sleep. It's the weekend tomorrow. *yawns*

Wedding groove

Monday, August 03, 2009

I just had to post a link to this video that I bumped into while randomly reading news on the net. It was hilarious & fun but heartfelt at the same time. How often do you see weddings like this so upbeat & cheeky? If I can do something like this for my wedding, super cool isn't it? XD Minus the "ketiak" dance that WL keeps on complaining about. Perhaps something more groovy no? ^^

P.S. I love this video...

Yellow blob

Sunday, August 02, 2009

After months of searching, I've finally found what I've been looking for...

The perfect solution to cleaning hard-to-reach areas on the keyboard.

*unwraps*

Upon unwrapping, you'll find yourself with a gooey yellow blob - the texture a little rubber-ish & sticky but not as bouncy as those green stuff as shown in the movie, Flubber.

It definitely cleans very well! *thumbs up*

Indeed a good purchase~

Sense of longing

Sunday, July 26, 2009

Did we fight?

Not exactly.

What happened then?

I don't know. I don't quite remember. I was upset...

Was it something that he said that didn't feel right?

Yes, that's right. I was confused again.

Did he do anything to patch things up?

Well he did. He was sorry & he didn't mean what he said.

Things seemed fine. Why the worried face?

I wonder if he pulled back his words just to make me happy. But deep in his heart, maybe he doesn't feel sorry.

Perhaps you're over-analysing things.

I supposed so. But I don't feel at ease somehow. Like something is missing.

Talk to him.

I can't. He's out of the country for a business trip. He seems so...far away. I'm worried.

He'll be back in no time. Please rest assure about that.

I just want him back home safely. I feel empty when he's not around. I miss him.

I'm sure he misses you dearly too. Both of you know that.

*nods* Words just can't describe anything.

Give him a warm welcome.

I've already prepared a surprise for him. Waiting for him to come home to enjoy it...*smiles*

Shopping bliss

Sunday, July 19, 2009

Sometimes things that your beloved say to you might irk or annoy the heck out of you. And having to dive into an argument wouldn't makes thing any better especially when both sides refuse to compromise or utter a plain simple apology.

Rather than dwell over the issue which might eventually lead to a heated argument, I found that shopping does wonders to your bad day. Provided that there's a strong abstinence over the tendency to overspend if your resources are rather scarce or risk ended up broke at the end of the day.

Thankfully, I was still able to control but spending over RM200 within 2 hours is considered a lot, eh? XD. I spent on a new pair of peep-toe pumps cuz I really love shoes. Wish I could buy more but Mum would start yelling at me again =P

And then I bought a perfume that I've been looking for a long, long time. Never thought that I could find it in Malaysia ever since the first time I had a whiff of the scent from a sample that came with the package I bought from YesAsia. From that day, I fell in love with it cuz it embodies simplicity, innocence & sweetness that matches very much to my personality. I didn't buy back then cuz it was too pricey on YesAsia & I was left to only dream of owning one. Here it is before my very eyes & till now, it still seems unreal to me...

Sasa was conducting promotion in which every customer will receive a RM10 for every RM100 purchase. With that RM10 & additional few dollars, I added a facial item to my basket. I've tried it & so far...pretty okay. It actually has cucumber extracts & smells like one too. Not reusable though :/

Come to think of it, I really love shopping alone cuz I actually get to buy things as compared to shopping with friends. Sad to say this but it's very true. Or else, tagging along with Mum would be another favourable option too. I wouldn't have ended up shopping alone today if it wasn't for accompanying Grandma to the beauty centre for her final facial appointment. The weekend crowd at Mid Valley was no doubt there, as per usual. Nevertheless, Kiehl's definitely caught my attention with their out-of-this-world marketing ploy.

As you can see, those "mannequins" are actually real humans being made as one. Believe it or not, they stood still in the glass box for 1 hour - waving to curious onlookers & shoppers every 5 seconds just so to draw attention to Kiehl's current promotion. It's pretty wicked cuz they're pretending to smile at you & pose as still as a tree simultaneously. Impactful as agreed by many but I wasn't sure if it was effective enough to draw crowds to the Kiehl's shop nearby. As a normal person myself, I was amused but in the end I wasn't interested to stop by at the shop. Why? Cuz Kiehl's products are way beyond my budget. Prove me wrong. Perhaps many might've entered the shop after witnessing such an interesting marketing tool by them. After all, I'm only one of the few that doesn't fall under their target market so whether the message had reached me or not...it's less important right? Of course, I wouldn't deny that they were trying to turn people like me into potentials & hopefully loyal ones.

Assumption is not the best policy

Tuesday, July 14, 2009

The biggest lesson I've ever learnt was to not assume something that you're uncertain. Why? Because the likelihood of giving wrong information could cause trouble - not only to yourself but others as well. Here was what happened that made me regret what I did.

I was supposed to ensure the sponsored hampers to be delivered to the recipient by batches before the upcoming event this Sunday. The first batch is to be yesterday. And so I engaged a driver to take over the deed while I communicate to the recipient on the expected delivery time. What went wrong? On the delivery note, I only wrote the recipient's landline number cuz I can't remember her giving it to me (as you know...some ppl refuses to provde them due to privacy reasons). When my driver asked for it, I took out my mobile & quickly scrolled through the phonebook list & miraculously found her name in my list. But somehow, my instincts were telling me that it's not the right one though the name exactly matches the recipient's. I ignored it & gave it to my driver. I assumed it was the right one. I was wrong =(

The nightmare - my driver tried to get hold of me several times on my office phone but to no avail cuz I was busy running errands around the department. He said that the delivery address was wrong & the recipient told him she wasn't expecting any hampers. What's worse...she directed him to her father's shop at another location. Being the responsible driver, he didn't want to disappoint me for not fulfilling his promise; he drove all the way as directed by the so-called recipient only to find out that the father wasn't expecting it either. When my driver called again, he was puzzled & a little frustrated with the miscommunication that happened. Then only I realised that the cellphone number I gave to my driver was another person! It turned out to be someone that I got acquainted during college & coincidentally shared the same name as the actual recipient. To top it off, I totally forgotten that I even knew her in the first place. Gawd!! -_-"

In conclusion, the hampers weren't delivered as promised but instead postponed to Wednesday. See what I mean by DO NOT ASSUME? Honestly, I was in guilt for having my driver to travel so many times. It was indeed a huge mistake. Thankfully, he was still very courteous & I couldn't help apologising a thousand times. Moral of the story: It pays to double check & be 100% sure when dealing with important matters.

"Record-breaking" wrapping session

Friday, July 10, 2009

I always believe that there's always a first time in anything you do. It wasn't my first time wrapping a gift hamper to be given to a guest or relative for a certain special ocassion. But wrapping 60 hampers was definitely a whole new experience for me. Especially when you're putting in plenty of your company's products.

Tiring as expected; I was given the honour task to coordinate the entire "project" & to ensure that our sponsored hampers is delivered to the recipients as promised. It took me a day or two to draw out stocks from both warehouses & accumulate the complete set of stocks for the hampers. Then it was non-stop wrapping the next day.

The surprising thing...or should I say the amazing thing is that we managed to settle more than half of the 60 hampers within two hours. Much thanks to great help from my fellow colleagues. Really appreciate their helping hand =)In the end, we took merely two days to accomplish our mission. Now it's in my hands to deliver the prizes on time.

Those of you curious about where the hampers are going to, check out the Kenny Rogers Chicken Run this Sunday, 19 July. Even better, participate in the race to stand a chance to win attractive prizes. Besides, what's better than joining in the fun in the name of charity? =D

Another bad day

Driving myself to the test location while trying to calm my nerves is already a daunting task to deal with. What's more, having to deal with claustrophobia is not helping the whole situation. After parking the car, I found my way to the nearest lift which turned out to be a service lift furnished with black paddings around the walls. That's when my phobia kicked in - knees feeling weak, numb & wobbly while my heart thumps hardly on my chest. That moment seemed like forever as I stood still; struggling to regain composure while cold sweat trickled down my forehead.

As soon as the lift halted on the 5th floor, I quickly dashed out & flee to the loo. I'm not close to peeing in my skirt, mind you. Only checking to see whether my face had turned pale green. Anyways, fast forward to the test scene. For the first time, I interacted with the other candidates - supposedly to be my archrivals competing for the same position. Rather odd for me but oh well...*shrugs* Seems fun~

The one thing which really turns off your mood is that when the examiners announce that you fail to proceed to the next round. And seeing other candidates who've succeeded make you feel even more devastated & embarrassed. Like a failure. What really struck me hard is that I keep on failing aptitude tests countless times that I actually lost count. =(

Just when you thought of finding solace from your other half after an awful day, he cancelled last minute. It wasn't WL's fault to be honest...knowing that he has a more hectic schedule compared to mine. However, everything goes awry especially when you have a bad start for the entire day. I was disappointed, so to speak. But what can we do about it? Shit just happens every now & then. Nobody is wrong. Blame it on bad timing. How did I de-stress? I just cried myself to sleep. Sounds exhausting but it works for me. Hmm...
